"Love" in Animal Crossing?

Honestly, i think this is cute touch and I hope it stays. The characters have already been toned down too much since the first game.

If people associate this with zoophilia i think it says more about them than the game to be quite honest.

This, I'm fine with how it is done in NL, and it was cute, and not pushing the boundaries at all, PC did this really good without it being zoophilia during the BF confection event earlier this month

Hard no. We have enough inappropriate stuff online, we don't need the game to fuel those peoples, er, fanart. Between villagers, I'm fine with, just for fun. Between human and the animals, no.

Plus, we can choose to be a boy or girl in game, so like what if we choose a girl and like the girl villagers but BECAUSE we play as the girl character only the boy animals would like the girl villager, or via versa for dudes.

I think a little romance between animal villagers could be handled in a charming way, but the thought of the human player having that kind of dynamic with the animals creeps me out a little personally. It isn?t a feature I?d ask for myself. As a kid, I always found the inclusion of very romantic stuff in video games kind of uncomfortable and they tended to feel catered toward a different audience than myself.

I think the people scared of this feature "seeming like zoophilia" are taking having a crush on an abstract digital cartoon character a bit too far. I think it's a fun, cute feature (it's optional too,) and would appreciate people keeping their sexuality to themselves.. After all, roleplaying games are about how you make yourself feel when playing them.

Yes thank you, finally someone who gets it >3< Its not like I'm talking about ROMANCE, just a small and optional feature like villagers randomly expressing a love interest via a small dialogue or letter. Because AC Switch will be such a big game, I'm just thinking of new features that (if done right) can fit perfectly well in the AC world.
I don't understand the people who say no because its suggestive of zoophilia because it's a family-friendly animated game with animals that are literally walking, talking, dressing, and doing everything the human player does. I mean kids who play the game won't even care because they don't instantly think of zoophilia like us older, matured players, especially if the "romance" feature is just a small detail that isn't required. They'll just care about playing the game because it's fun, which it would be even with a new mechanic like that. I mean the game is about community and the relationship you have with your town, why not expand on the behavioral development of the villagers in it? I think if Nintendo wanted to, they could do it in a way people will enjoy.

I?m not a huge fan of the idea to be honest. As far as I?m aware, AC is a very innocent game and was created focus on simple but innocent themes. Friendship, teamwork, helping others, community spirit etc I?m not saying love isn?t innocent but it can definitely go... to far. Plus as other have said, us flirting with our villagers kinda crosses over into strange and disturbing territory.

no!!! Having Kapp'n and smug villagers flirt with female characters is good enough. Romance is too much.
