You MAY have thought that mailing was boring and pointless, but it's actually very useful. Not only are you upholding your duty to the neighbors that you like, but you're getting, in return for your cheap services, something you might like.

In the last game, sending mail got me mediocre furniture; nothing that I actually considered for anything. It wasn't AWFUL, but it wasn't too great.

In City Folk, with the same halfhearted letter writing, will you be rewarded with somewhat greater furniture.

The tip for writing mail is as follows;

Send said villager a letter, and write "friend friend friend friend friend" as written. No caps, no punctuation, don't even worry about the "riend" following down from the initial "f" in the fifth word. Just type it five times, pack a bag of 100 bells for EACH villager, and send a batch of them to any villager(s). 10 Letters seems good.

"To Monique (example),

friend friend friend friend f
riend

From Tola"

By mail time, you should receive 10 plentiful gifts (which each may go for some bells) and a grateful response. I suggest doing this if you want to collect furniture to fill up your catalog at a faster pace, carry in some extra dough by selling them, and get higher friend points with the villagers.

Don't knock it 'til you try it.

To exemplify some of the good furniture you can get; I got a Classic and Lovely Bed through said methods. It's really enhanced.

Yes, and it's faster in Wild World because you can actually copy and paste "friend" 5 times. You may be able to do that in this, but I can't find how.

It's a hassel for Nintendo to send anything to Europe - there are so many languages. Translation costs are high.

As far as i know, there has been only the English version.. At least for GC version and the WW one, so i don't think they will translate this one.

Good. Europeans need to learn English anyway.
That's a little ignorant... but anyways nice guide. I don't think I'll be doing this though. If I do write letters (which I don't often) I like to write something decent... lol I think it's lame when a neighbor from your friend's town moves to yours and they show you a letter that says:
friend friend friend friend f
riend

This seems cheap to me... I think I will stick to writing proper letters with maybe a few cheesy sentences that happen to use the word friend a few times...

Yea, me too. I'd rather write a real letter than just type "friend" a bunch of times. That's just no fun at all. Plus, they'd go off and show those letters to other people. That'd make you look really stupid.

It's not ignorant at all. Japan almost spends as much money translating their games for European countries as they get from those countries. It's logical. Nothing ignorant about it. English is also universal. Most people should know it by now. It beats the 100 + languages in Europe.

But about that latter statement; I find it pretty hilarious when they show you that letter. Someone in my town did it and I chuckled.

And to "Boom!", I only know of cases with "friend" and "hate". Buddy probably won't work.

Anyway, as for "writing 'real letters," what exactly are you talking about? What is the point besides aesthetic differentiations? The animals are robots, they don't know the difference between "Hi Monique! What's up buddy? Had a fun time fishing last night! I have a red sofa! I went to the museum! Bye!" And "friend friend friend friend friend"

Actually, the former would confuse them. The point is to get them to like you more and get a gift. The animals are no smarter than average computers when interpreting the letters, at least as far as Animal Crossing's coding goes. Don't push it.
