Map help

I started New Leaf for the first time tonight, and I've been trying to read everything I can about what people like in a map. I'm a little overwhelmed by how much stuff there is to consider!

I'm trying not to be too picky because I really just want to play the game to relax, but I don't want to accidentally commit to a map that might have annoyances with traversal or what not.

Here's where I'm currently at. I know maps are subjective to a large degree, but I was curious if there was anything that stood out about my current map, good or bad. I'm not very far so I'm open to resetting.

I was really interested in a map like this with the plaza in the center, but I have already reset 6 or 7 times and hadn't come across it yet.

Even you try to play to relax i would suggest to choose a map you like and feel cool with.

I lost my 4 year game and when buying a new one i have to restart several times to find the layout i used to have with small differences. I actually cross like 4 times with maps like the one you're looking for (the one with the plaza in the center).

I personally don't like maps with to many ponds and where the builds are to close to the plaza but that's just me.

About your map you can make some good things there for the campsite and even make a little urbanization in the left down corner.

Maybe this is just a "Me Thing" but I like to have the dock, the ramp to the beach, and the Recycle Store in close proximity (for example, i like where your dock and south beach ramp are, but i'd want the recycle shop to be near the ramp in the south)

This is just because I like going to the island to hunt for beetles and then selling them.

Otherwise this seems like a good map! I like the shape of the cliff over the beach.

The location of Re-Tail is one thing I am on the fence about. I've read a few old threads and near the beach seems to be one of the preferred spots!

In New Horizons, I have liked having my house by the shop to sell things and clear out my storage, but it seems like there are a lot of things that are different in New Leaf, so I wasn't sure if having my house nearby would be useful.
