My logic is that I anticipate that the bidding will keep going up, and I'd like to just buy him right out and claim him while I can, rather than potentially lose him in a bidding war. That said, I don't have quite the buyout price yet, so it's still possible someone else could buy him out from under me.

Also, this is not real money - so if he/she wants to spend all that time farming money, then that's his/her choice.

So, Puddle, out of curiosity, when will the auction end? And I don't suppose there's any way that Marshal could be in boxes sooner than the 23rd? I have no problem waiting until then, but if there's a chance I might be able to pick him up sooner (assuming I win him) that would be great.

Yes, he has to be in boxes in order for me to invite him to my town. If he said he'll be moving on the 23rd, that's the day he'll be in boxes. If you don't mind fooling around with your 3DS clock, you could make him be in boxes right now, otherwise, I'll have to contact you on the 23rd. I can also explain the villager-trading procedures in more detail, if you'd like.

3PM Eastern works for me just fine.

The whole process will go like this:

I'll go to your town. I'll check and make sure that Marshal is in boxes and ready to go. I won't talk to him yet if you don't want me to.

Then I'll start dropping the money in your town. I can only carry 1,600,000 at a time, so this will take a long time. Many trips to the post office. If you have an ABD in your house, that would make it a bit faster. I can loan you an ABD, if you'd like. Then I would just go into your house over and over, instead of onto main street, into the post office, and back again.

Probably you'll be wanting to pick up the money as I drop it and deposit it afterward.

Once I've given you the whole amount of money, if I haven't done this already, I'll go and talk to Marshal and invite him to my town.

Then you can end the session, or I can get on the train myself, and I'll be sent home.

A couple important rules I'd like to go by:

1. close your gate as soon as I arrive so that no one else can arrive and potentially disrupt the signal

2. don't save at all, the only save that should happen is the one when you end session, or if I get on the train and leave on my own

The reason for these rules is that the way villagers move, the game only saves the villager to my town when I successfully return home from your town after I invite him. If I invite Marshal, and you do a save/continue in your town, that will save him being gone from your town, but will NOT save him moving into mine. If we were to get disconnected after that save, Marshal would disappear forever. And I think we'd both like to avoid that.

wouldn't it be faster if puddle puts flowers at retail for 999.999 each? also if you put 400k on letters you can buy 2 per trip, i paid for marshal that way an it's faster, also, i'd recommend to talk to marshal and return to your town, return to puddle's town and start buying the flowers and for example save each 10 mil, i lost another marshal because of a bad conenction and constant disconections, so saving is really improtant from time to time.
