I have to do an online test for HW, and I'm stuck on this question.
'Jack has 24 songs on his favourite playlist. The mean song length is 3:46. The 23 shortest songs are all under 3 minutes long. Will the other song be longer or shorter than 3:46?'
It's probably easier than I think, but I can't figure it out xD
Can anyone give me a hand??

So he has 24 songs on the playlist, the mean/average songtime for all 24 songs is 3 minutes 46 seconds.

If 23 of the songs are under 3 minutes long which is 46 seconds below the average then number 24 must be a very long song indeed to bring the average up to 3 minutes 46 seconds.

Hope that made sense, let me know if you have any further questions.

Yup, longer. Much longer. If the 23 songs are under 3 minutes, that means, that the average length is also under 3 minutes. As dealz said, if you'd like to increase the average length, you'd need a much longer song to balance the other 23 ;)

Thanks guys for the answers I got it right c:

But now I have this, and I have no clue how to do it. Does anyone know?
