So I'm aware that the maximum number of villagers you can have is 10.
But what I don't know is if that number also includes yourself and any other characters you make. Asking because I have 2 player characters living on the island, been setting up plots for KK's concert, and when getting the 8th villager plot, Nook tells me that this is the last plot available. This caught me off guard. Because I always assume that "villager" means animal villagers, not the player characters.
So is this simply just something I have to unlock or is my island actually at it's max capacity?

After watching a video from MonkeyKingHero, it looks like the number of players you have do not effect the number of npc/animal villagers you have on your island. That being said, I'm still not entirely sure why Nook tells me my plots are full except that the other 2 plots may be locked behind after finish the KK concert quest.
