Meeting a family member of a villager

If you take a closer look to the backstories of your villagers, you find out a little bit
about their families. What if in the new game, you actually meet someone of the family
from a villager, like the mother or the big brother for example? Those characters, which
are NPCs, appear random in the house of a villager, kinda like a guest, and they have
some similarities with the villager as well as some particularities when it comes to their
looks so that you know who it is from the family. Now of course it would be too much
to give every single villager a family member, but maybe if like almost half of the available
villagers getting a family member...? And depending of how your friendship is with the
villager, the family member also acts different to you when you talk with him/her, maybe
also give you some special items or show you a pic of the whole family from the villager,
so that you can also see the rest of the family. The family member could be either
there the whole day or only for a few hours till they going back home.

What do you think? I just thought it would be a cute thing, especially if you imagine
all the funny situations that can happen.

Not really a story mode, just basically, random NPCs that appears on random days like Gulliver
does for example (except their are not gonna alluvial on the beach like he does *cough*...) and
then disappear after a while, like at night or the next day.

Interesting idea. I've always been kinda curious about villager's other family members, like their parents.

i think that could be cute. they stay in the villager's house for a few hours and leave. maybe you could occasionally get mail from them if you are close friends with their relation.

i have tom and moe in my town and they are definitely siblings

Ahh I love that! Keeping the abstract, collectable feeling the villager characters already have, but expanding on their own personal lives and making them feel a bit more human than NPCs existing to be NPCs. Learn things about them that they can't say, or even trade/gift items with their family.

Can you imagine how many family member characters would have to be made? We already have around 400 villagers and if each of those had at least one relative that'd be at least 400 more characters to the game. And since they would probably only make short appearances I really don't think it would be worth it. But it's a neat idea all the same.
