Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphires last legendary; Rayquaza. The fearsome dragon now holds the amazing power of mega evolution, but is this new evolution too overpowered? Let's look at Rayquaza's new form.
THE GOOD
An example of Rayquaza's newest move, Dragon Ascent. A flying type move that does 120 with minimal drawback. NOT TO MENTION THE STAB
First off his (assuming this beast is a man...) new move, Dragon Ascent. Dragon Ascent is thought to be the most powerful flying move in the game, 120 POWER and not to mention 100% ACCURACY. The only real drawback is it lowers Rayquaza's defense and special defense (which isn't that much of a big deal due to Rayquaza being an all out attacker). The next major thing is Mega Rayquaza's new ability, Delta Stream,
What this ability does
-Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type moves deal normal damage to any Flying-type Pokémon in battle instead of being super-effective.
-The strong winds cannot be replaced by a regular weather condition - in other words the moves Hail, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, and Sandstorm, and the abilites Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will fail.
it's basically a better and more powerful Air Lock.
If you continue on with the Delta Episode, it is revealed that Rayquaza DOESN'T NEED A MEGA STONE. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT RAYQUAZA.. With Mega Rayquaza's fantastic attacks and potential an item add's onto the sheer terror of Rayquaza. Think about the potential... Focus Sash, Choice items, THE POSSIBILITIES ARE LIMITLESS WITH THIS NEW FORM...
THE BAD
There is no bad unless you count Rayquaza's average defense, other than that Rayquaza is a force not to be taken lightly.
Take a gander at the weird yet intriguing power of Mega Rayquaza
HOW OP?
Mega Rayquaza has already been given it's own tier on Smogon, ranking it AG or Anything Goes. With the limitless possibilities that Mega Rayquaza can put out, it is nearly impossible to tell what Mega Rayquaza can do. With Dragon Ascent and so many other moves Rayquaza has at his disposal, I have one thing to say...
