Melody was walking along the beach of her town, SongTown. She took out her net and swung at a palm tree. "Dang it!" She said. A rainbow stag beetle flew away and disappeared. She visited the town hall and asked Isabelle about recent news. Melody was the mayor of SongTown.

Blues, the most handsome robot this side of the seven seas, walked into the town hall carrying a roll of papers and a rainbow stag.

As Melody was daydreaming about finally upgrading her house to a mansion when she bumped into someone. "Oh I'm so sorry! I was daydreaming, as always." She stared at the robot in front of her. "I'm...Melody, the mayor. Nice to meet you. Where are you moving in?"

Blues looked at Melody, a smile slowly stretching across his face. "Just past the riverbend," he replied. "And I think this is yours." He handed her the rainbow stag.

"Thanks. I was just about to ask Isabelle about starting a new public works project. What's your name?" She put the rainbow stag in her pockets.

"Blues. I'm from.... well, not here." Blues shrugged. "A long way off, actually. I'm trying to find someplace to start up a new life."

"Oh, welcome to SongTown, Blues. This is the perfect place, as I just started my job as mayor about a month ago! We're both new here. I'm thinking of adding a bench near the small garden by the plaza." Melody walked into the town hall, leaving the door open for Blues. (I'll be Isabelle too.) "Hello there, Melody, Blues. What brings you here?"
"I wanted to put a bench near the small garden by the plaza, where you always go whenever you have 5 minutes to spare." Melody and Isabelle laughed, as she always went to the small garden, enjoying the roses.
"What are you here for, Blues?" Isabelle asked.

"Sounds nice, and thanks for the welcome, Melody! Hi, Isabelle. Just wanted to go over the plans for my lab."

"Lab?" Melody asked. "Oh yeah, you're a robot. Haha."
"Okay, so it's right here..." Isabelle pointed to the spot Blues mentioned before. "Sign here please...okay! Talk to Tom Nook at Nook's Homes on Main Street to get the price of your house. Seeya!"
"Don't worry, it's only about 10,000 bells, it's easy to pay off." Melody remembered how she paid it off in 3 hours. "Well, I need to get my bed back from Cyrus at Re-Tail. Want to come to my house in a few minutes? It's right here." She pointed to a house on her map.

"All right, thanks. Huh? Oh, sure. Sorry, wasn't paying attention." Blues laughed lightly. "You can come see the lab once it's finished. And the house, too. I like the comforts as much as anyone. I'll see you soon. Dasvidanya." Blues exited the town hall, making his way to Nook's Homes.

Melody walked to Re-Tail, which was across the town, and picked up her common bed. It was now purple, matching her purple lamp. She also sold her rainbow stag, as it was already in the museum. She placed it next to the classic table with her lamp in her bedroom. "Hmm...I haven't seen what's for sale at Super T&T yet. I'll go check." Melody walked downstairs and exited her house. She then talked to a few of her animal neighbors and entered Super T&T. There was a few things on sale, but nothing she was interested in. She bought a set of lotus paper and a few wrapping papers. When she was about to leave, she spotted something interesting. "Timmy, what's this?" She asked. "That is a megaphone. It's useful for getting people's attention and speaking to a large group of people. It's 500 bells." Timmy said picking it up. "I'll buy it." She took it from him and gave him 500 bells. She put everything in her locker in the train station, which magically connected to her home's wardrobes, and started walking home.

Blues, meanwhile, had gotten Tom Nook to build his house/lab. It had come to the tune of 40,000 Bells for the groundbreaking. A good deal, Blues thought. Leaving the plans with Nook, Blues meandered around Main Street, stopping in at the Super T&T for a quick errand, then heading on over to Melody's house.

Melody jumped from her chaise lounge chair as Blues walked in. "Hello Blues. Welcome to my house. I've expanded it a bit, and added a room upstairs a few days ago. I don't have room for everything, though. Want a cherry?" She picked up a cherry, the native fruit, from a basket near a sink and gave it to him. "There's a small fruit orchard by the west beach, the fruits are still growing back."

"Sheesh, Melody, slow down. I almost can't understand you." Blues took the cherry and looked around the room. "Nice place. Glad my housewarming gift will go well with it."

"Heh. Sorry, I do that a lot. But wait until you meet Blathers, the museum director." Melody giggled. "Tomorrow we're getting the Dream Suite, so I'll be there first thing in the morning. I heard it costs 500 bells to sleep!" She ate a cherry herself and turned on a red TV. A yellow ninja appeared on the screen. "Ooh, I love this show. It's really funny."

Blues shook his head in bewilderment. Of all the towns he could have chosen, he got the one with the mayor that said a lot, and fast. But he was happy. After having wandered for years, finally getting a place to settle down was great. And, though he had only known Melody for a little while, Blues thought she was pretty cool. He put the box he had been carrying by the table, grabbed a lone chair, and sat to watch. Contemplating was present, too.

When the show ended, Melody got up and turned the TV off. "Well, nice meeting you Blues. I need to go to another town for a meeting in a few minutes, so I'll seeya later." Melody opened the door for Blues and headed off for the train station, getting ready to go to Caramel City. (XD) When the train arrived, she hopped on, and sat near a brown bear cub. "Hello there, my name's Maple. Who are you?" The little bear asked. "My name's Melody, the mayor of SongTown. Nice to meet you, Maple." After talking for a while, Maple decided she should move to SongTown. "It'll be so fun! I'll pack up my stuff in my current town and move in as soon as I can."
"Caramel City, Caramel City, all passengers for Caramel City get off the train, we are arriving." Porter said as the train stopped.
"Bye Maple. I'll see you soon!" Melody said as she exited the train.

Not having anything else to do, Blues decided to meet the rest of the villagers. He noticed a distinct pattern among them; they all liked Melody as their mayor. After talking to Prince, Blues made his way to his little plot of land and began planning various things in his head.

--------------

Maple raced to catch up with Melody. "You can't get rid of me yet!" Maple giggled. "I live here!"
