I've noticed with the Check Mii Out Channel that global ignorance of the users makes the winning Miis inaccurate (people vote on it). For example, I submitted my first Mii recently, Thomas Jefferson, and it was rather good in my opinion. I had his hair and hair color perfect, however looking at the winning Miis it didn't matter if the hair was completely inaccurate: as long as it was gray. It seems like anyone that's dead gets gray hair, even though Jefferson was popular for his blondish reddish hair. This works with the Mozart contest as well. Even though, in reality, Mozart died at age 34, the Mii winners portrayed him as an old man. So back to Jefferson... frankly the winning Miis were horrible. I can easily tell the overwhelming influence of the Benjamin Franklin look in these Miis. For example, most of them (including 1st place) had glasses. This is simply inaccurate.

Conclusion - Wii owners are ignorant?

Better conclusion - Most of the world is ignorant. :(

The majority is often affected mostly by media... Maybe the voters didn't really care for it? One can assume that those voters often associate figures from history with a grey hair.

Oh no, the next contest is "Surfer Dude" O_O.

I don't think that one will be too bad since it's not a real person. So accuracy doesn't really mater...

Conclusion: Japan is ********.
I'm pretty sure it's America only. Why would they ask Japan to do Thomas Jefferson?

It's the answer to everything! :]
(And dodn't Canadians have the same question as US? Jeffy doesn't apply to them either.)

The same thing happened with the Abe Lincoln and Ben Franklin contests.

I thought mine was really good, and yet some P.O.S. still wins.

I don't do the contests any more. -_-

Conclusion: Most everyone with sense has deleted the Check Mii Out Channel to make room for Wiiware and VC games.

|sf>That's been bugging me as well. I went out of my way to find a painting of Jesse James in an Encyclopedia in order to know what JJ looked like and thereby make my Wii picks based upon that. Most of the winners looked nothing even vaguely like Jesse James. From what I remember in the picture, JJ had a "college student" haircut with no mustache and a small goatee.

You'd think that with Thomas Jefferson appearing on the Nickel that most people would be intelligent enough to compare the Miis to a nickel or to compare it to a photograph of Mount Rushmore. Nope. The grey hair in his case is excusable, considering he also became the third president of the US, but the glasses weren't. I think some people just think "Founding Father--he must be an old dude with glasses."

I also hunted down pictures of paintings for Mozart to weigh my decision. It's the same philosophy that I had when the Everyone Votes channel asked about American Idle, the telephone poles, or the zebra. It only takes five minutes to do a web search for the answer to a factual question, but some people think that they "know it all."

I didn't bump it was on the first page. And I have no idea. But if you haven't noticed, The U.S. is right beside Canada....

yea, but Canada was run by the French when Thomas Jefferson was around. America was becoming a separate country from Canada. TJ had nothing to do with it.

Idk, I'm not really into history.

I have the same problem with Check Mii Out. I only got my Wii in March of this year, and the first few contests were cool. After that, I quickly realized that people basically submit any old thing, and the thing that wins and ends up on the "top level" of each contest is 50 people making Miis in one style or another that look nearly exactly alike. There's nothing historically accurate about it. The Thomas Jefferson/Mozart contests really annoyed me. My Tom is tall with red hair, dangit! :throwingrottenapples:
