They have literally done the impossible this year.
Even though you guys probably don't know, I am a huge baseball fan, and I've always wanted, live, to see the Twins win a World Series. I was uberly disappointed in the Twins earlier in the season, when they were a whopping 12 1/2 games back Detroit, and 6 back in the Wild Card... It looked like the team that could would miss the play-offs this year.
Not likely, apparently, with staff that features a possible Cy Young award winner (Johan Santana), a possible MVP winner (Justin Morneau), and the Leage Batting Champ (Joe Mauer). Add to that great clutch hitters like Nick Punto and Michael Cuddyer, along with the best manager this season, and you've possibly got a team that's goin' to the World Series... And winning it.
Yes, ladies and gents, Minnesota has won the AL Central. Unprobable? Uh-huh. One of the best comebacks in baseball? Yeah, that too. Overall, this has been one heck of a year for Minnesota; do you think they can make it big and win it all, or will they have another disappointing year in terms of play-offs? I certainly hope that they win it all, because if there's one team that deserves to win, it's them. Here's how I think everything will turn out...
Oakland Vs. Minnesota (Winner - Minnesota)
Detroit Vs. New York [Yankees] (Winner - Detroit)
St. Louis Vs. San Diego (Winner - San Diego)
Los Angeles Vs. New York [Mets] (Winner - New York)
Minnesota Vs. Detroit (Winner - Minnesota)
San Diego Vs. New York (Winner - New York)
Aaaand... I won't predict how the World Series'll turn out, but I do think that Minnesota and the New York Mets'll meet up there!
What do you guys think?
