Imbri
Resident Night Mare
Well, like other areas, Salem has hit the summer doldrums. Life is still chugging along, but there haven't been any real earth shaking events. Still, here's the expanded Reader's Digest version.
Vic got over his cold, although it took several days of medicine and staying indoors. I'm not sure how it happened, but Hazel has now caught whatever Vic had. I really need to talk to these villagers about making sure they wash their hands often and not swapping clothes when someone has the sniffles or chills. She should be better by tomorrow, with luck. With more luck, no one else will come down with this for a while!
I found a few more giant clam shells, so I've been stocking up on music boxes. They always make a nice present, right? I also started Cyrus on the Golden Series for me. So far, I have the Golden Man, Golden Room, Golden Bed, and Golden Wall. I've put it in the right-hand room for now, but once everything is expanded, I think it might be cool to put in the basement. We'll see.
I commissioned a few more PWPs for town - a metal bench in the central park area and a lighthouse, which is in the process of being built. Maybe it'll keep Gulliver from getting shipwrecked.... Nah, probably not. Speaking of our favorite sailor (sorry, Kap'n!), he was on the beach the other day. I think I messed up in where to send him. He said something about a spicy shrimp dish and elephants. The elephants confused me, so I told him Nepal. He wrote a nice letter about the place and sent a chocolate coin for me. Oops.
The monthly Bug-Off was last weekend. Thanks to being able to hit the island for bugs, I knocked Nat's socks off! I got several more pieces of the Insect Series (love the caterpillar couch. could do without the stag beetle chair.) and another gold trophy. Yay!
Phineas has been popping in and out and I've received a few more badges from him. The most recent one was the Great Samaritan Badge. Yep, 'cause I'm a Helpful Mayor.
Oh, yes! Mabel gave me a second mannequin a few days ago, because I'd spent so much at the shop. She said I had bought so many outfits, I probably needed something to put them on. I love putting together head-to-toe outfits on them. Also, the Nooklings have closed for renovation... again. It's included Leif's shop, so maybe he'll be expanding his wares, too. It would be nice to buy bushes in town, rather than wait for them to be stocked on the island. Because of the river and where buildings, cliffs, etc. are, I can't completely enclose my paths, but maybe that's a good thing; I can still access anywhere in town I want/need to go. I also received a pear and a peach from villagers as thank-you gifts for doing errands for them. All that I'm still missing are oranges, coconuts, and persimmons, and I know that Leif will be selling the last at some point. I'm sure someone will give me an orange before long, but I can't figure out how to get the coconut. Every time I go to the island or on tour, all I find are bananas. *sigh* Oh, well. I'm sure it'll work out.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to K.K. Slider's concert tonight. He was definitely rockin' the club last week and I have no reason to believe he won't do the same tonight. Have a great rest of the weekend, everyone!
