I think it will or already did somehow. In Welcome Amiibo, they?ve changed that way you decorate your house. What I think this time, you will have your own yard maybe? Who knows?

I think it'd be really cool for them to carry over the home designer job as one of the new jobs available. Like when an animal arrives you get to pick where their home is on the town map and design their front garden and interior using a mix of furniture that is provided by the villager. Later on maybe they come to you asking for a redo with newer pieces or for you to give them advice (yes/no) on furniture they've shopped around for.
I sure hope they gonna put all the Happy Home Designer (as well as New Leaf) features into the game.
Having more freedom to decorate your house would be amazing. I was pretty disappointed back then
when HHD came out and to find out that the player didn't had a own house, so I hope that this time,
we can decorate our house in the same way as we could the villager houses in HHD. Having also a
own yard would be nice and bringing back the job as a designer would be great too.
After all, they added already some HHD features into New Leaf with the Welcome amiibo update, so
the next logical step would be to add all HHD features and maybe even some new ones.
If Nintendo doesn't then they just made a huge mistake. The way you deign houses in HHD is such a great feature, and I wish more of it was implemented in the WA update. It's so effortless now, it makes decorating easy and quick. Having an overhead view also help with layout and seeing the flow of a room.
Something they can do to improve is to allow you to go in your drawer or pockets while you design so you can place down, but more importantly, take out furniture of the room while designing.
