Yep, it's official. The Museum Shop opened yesterday, so Celeste is now installed on Main Street. She attended the dedication ceremony, which was sweet. I wish Blathers had taken time off to attend as well, but we all know how dedicated he is to his job.
Once that was over, I went to check out the new space. Celeste explained the system for renting exhibit space. I took Room 1, even though I don't have anything to put there just now, but I'm sure the Museum can use the bells. I also purchased a Museum Wall for the room and put down the brick pattern I made on the floor. A Museum Stool was available, but I passed that up in favor of the Silver Shovel.
The other new arrival was Dr. Shrunk, who met me outside mycastle house yesterday. He went on and on about how he wanted to open a club but needed a few signatures in order to get his permit. Turns out he wanted me to run around to the villagers and do it. Fine. Luckily, everyone was enthusiastic about it and I had no trouble getting the required number of signatures. I returned the sheet to Shrunk and hope to see the club opening soon.
The island had yellow hibiscus to trade for medals, so I got a whole bunch of them. I put more alongside my path to create the border. It's going to take a lot of bushes, but I'll get there.
I also started working on funding for a fountain right in the center of town. It's going to be pretty, and I'll be able to see it from my bedroom window.
A yellow lily has popped up near my house. Prior to this, I'd only had white, red, and a few pink lilies I'd managed to breed. I'm going to replant the yellow one with some red and see if I can get orange lilies. I'd like to plant some around Hazel's house. Red, yellow, and orange suit her.
A camper came by the site - Octavian. He seemed nice, but I don't know. I think I'll wait and see who else comes along.
Mathilda kind of annoyed me. She asked if I enjoyed watching zombie movies because I looked like one. Something about doing too much. I sent her a letter saying that she needed some style and attached a pair of purple pumps. The silly kanga answered back that she loved the letter and sent a Western Fence in return. Hello, Reese? I've got something for you. Dizzy also sent a lovely Regal Wall Lamp after visiting me last night. He thought I needed more stuff on my walls.
Not much else going on. The usual stuff of fishing and bug collecting to make bells for paying off loans, checking in on my villagers and shopkeepers, and adding to my wardrobe and (more slowly) furniture. Label was selling the crown last night, which looked sooooo cute on me, but I didn't have the 1,000,000 bells, so I'll have to hope it comes around again. *sigh*
