Birthday Cakes

I usually do have them, to the point where it feels wrong to have a birthday and not have it. I think they’re really good, especially vanilla.

Usually I do eat cake! I got once a GoT iron throne cake that was really cool but usually I settle for fruit cake :3

i always get a birthday cake, as do the rest of my family, as we generally do something to celebrate altogether either on the day or very close so there are a good amount of people to share the cake between. i’m not actually a massive fan of birthday cakes, despite having a sweet tooth, as i find them quite filling and the icing on a lot of them too sweet so usually only have a very small slice.
don’t think i’ve ever really had one themed to a particular franchise or anything but did use to love getting animal shaped ones - a chocolate caterpillar or a hedgehog used to be my favourites.

i personally dont like standard cakes, but i'll buy a mini bundt cake or an ice cream cake on my birthday. i don't remember the last time anyones made a cake for me, it's probably over 10 years at this point.

I always have cake for my birthday! Though, I don't really remember the ones I had in the past. I don't even remember last year's? These days I usually want a cookie cake, though I feel like I had something different last year.

Though I try to watch what I eat most of the year, I make exceptions for birthdays, holidays like Halloween and Christmas, etc. So, yeah, I have cake on my birthday.

Within the past decade or so I've tended to opt for red velvet since it's my favorite type that I've tried thus far. I plan to have it for this year's birthday too.

At some point I'm going to try making spice cake to see what I think of it, so I don't know, maybe red velvet might have competition in the near future? We'll see.

I think I've always had a birthday cake and can't really imagine a birthday without one! Although one year I did do an assortment of different flavors of cupcake instead, but that's close enough I think. I've usually gone for chocolate or yellow cake with a couple of ice cream cakes thrown in, but recently I've been feeling like standard birthday cakes are a little too heavy/sweet for me anymore 😭 I don't like feeling sick after one slice lol, so I'll probably be switching to lighter cakes from here on! Strawberry shortcake/other fruit + cream cakes will probably be my go-tos, maybe a cheesecake occasionally, and my plan for this year is to try a Victoria sponge cake!

My mom made me a gorgeous chocolate castle cake at my request when I was absurdly small LOL. I was so little I can barely remember it now but it was super cool... I think it actually had four towers and a fake drawbridge done with a cookie or chocolate bar or something.
I also had a seven-layer rainbow cake one year!! Super pretty but also... that was a lot of cake

I always get a cake for my birthday! I've gotten an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for the past several years. I honestly forget when I started having their ice cream cakes for my birthday, but I definitely look forward to it every year!

I always eat cake for my birthday, though I find the cakes at local grocery stores are too sweet. Hence, I prefer eating birthday cake from cake shops. I'm not too picky about the flavor, though I typically like vanilla and red velvet cake.

My nan's always made me a chocolate and beetroot cake every year, the beetroot makes it a lot less overly sweet, and the icing is usually either buttercream or chocolate icing w edible flowers on it as decoration :)

Cakes that you get from the store are usually so full of processed junk. Maybe that's why. I used to work for a store where you got a free cake on your birthday month. It was nice to get a free cake, but the icing always felt sickeningly processed and full of sugar. I usually make cakes instead of buying them now and it's really good that way. I guess baking a cake with fresh ingredients makes all the difference and I never feel sick or bloated after eating a slice like I did when I ate a small slice of the free cake. It's hard to describe, but it's just gross. It didn't even taste that good anyway. Like those big layer cakes people get from stores for celebrations or whatever. They're nasty.

I make pumpkin spice cake with creamcheese icing and it's really good. I always make one around this time of the year for my birthday. It's best when it's chilled. Room temperature cake just doesn't cut it. Maybe try chilling your cake, I find that helps me stomach it better.

Despite not celebrating super hard anymore for birthdays, I usually still have birthday cake. The flavor I'm not too picky about, however, it's the thought that counts! 😋
Same here. I usually try to get something small or nice to treat myself. I try for homemade pumpkin spice cake, but I don't always have the time to make it. If you had a choice, what's your favorite flavor?

To be honest I really love a good Oreos cake if it's done well. Otherwise I'm pretty carefree with my tastes for cake. I love chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, lemon, pretty much anything!

...except cheesecake. I don't really like cheesecake at all, lol.

Homemade pumpkin spice cake sounds delicious! 😋
