MOKUZAI IS GONE! :'(

oh nooo that's horrible, I feel so sad for you :(

I wouldn't want to play for months if that happened to me but know that we're all here for you and will help when you do decide to restart <3 ;-;

Thats horrible.
Not sure what else to say...
H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.

That's really sad, im so sorry :( just really gutting
you were such a good mayor in that town and seemed to really love it and had great villagers from when we talked :/

Wow that sucks!
So sorry! DX
Hope you can restart with a better town and get Marshal as your smug starter! :D

I'm sorry. I can't imagine having a town that I've worked so hard on...and then it's just gone.

Now I'm worried that my town will be corrupted...:(

ahh that must be really rough.. i'm so sorry ;n;
especially probably on how far you've gotten.. ahh that must really suck

"You rushed to save and your file corrupted." I'm guessing your 3DS was blinking red and lost power while saving. You should admit it since it looks like you are scaring some people (one person said they are afraid to save now... you should clear that up!).

Anyway, that's horrible. :c I would probably just quit AC if that happened to me... :(

If you have uploaded a dream town, you should visit it on your sister's game. c:

Awh :( I'm very sad ......... do you need need bells for your new town ? :) ask me anything , I'm always here ! :)

I'm so sorry :( This is just awful :( I don't know what to say... And it happened while saving? :O I'll be damn scared now everytime I save the game :( Or did you accidentally hit the power button?

Yeah...I had been thinking about restarting a few days before, but I was still unsure of myself and was thinking about posting on the resetting thread. I wasn't expecting this to happen, though. I think my battery ran out or I accidentally pressed power; it happened unexpectedly so it's kind of hard to explain.
I do miss my town; thankfully it wasn't like I hadn't been thinking about restarting. That would have been worse...but I would have liked to sell some of my items before my game corrupted, at least. :(
Ah, well...I really hope I get a better town when I start playing again! :'( And geez, thank you all for your offers and support! It really helps with the sadness. :) You guys are like my best friends...on the Internet, at least! <3
Even though I don't have a town anymore, I can still help people decide on the resetting thread! The only things I really can't respond to much are the New Leaf, Re-Tail, and Villager Trading Boards. Thankfully everything else is okay. c:

Noo D: If this happened to me, I don't think my 3DS will exist (meaning I'll probably break it in half).
If you need anything, everyone here is willing to help out.

Don't worry c: When you decide to make a new town, you can improve it and gain your respective villagers again!

i'm so sorry :(

i know you said you didn't want to talk about it; but could you please explain what happened?
i'd like to know how the corruption happened ><

While MadisonCrossing is still unsure on how did the corruption took place, she thought that either the battery ran out (as the notification and power light were blinking in red) or she accidentally hit the POWER button while the game was saving.

One thing we all know for sure: if you manage to interrupt the saving process, chances are high you'd end up having a corrupted saved data. That's exactly why the game always tell you not to hit the POWER button.
Additionally, it's possible to have your town corrupted without doing anything. While the exact cause is unknown, extensive villager resetting and cycling could possibly raise the odds of corrupting a town due of the much more frequent saving/loading screen compared to an average player.
Also, it depends on how functional is the 3DS on handling the game. My old Ice White Japanese 3DS proved that, as my copy of ACNL had a high crash rate on that system (other games seemed to work fine). It would freeze on one of the many loading screens regardless of the situation. Right after I've performed a System Transfer to my newer JPN 3DS, the game fully ceased to crash and is completely functional.

tl;dr : Interrupting the saving process will definitely corrupt the game's saved data, while villager resetting/cycling and "defective" 3DS can raise the odds of corrupted data. That's it, while assuming you use a properly functional SD Card.
