I hope that you readers have visited my Dream Town. If you have, you may read these blog entries that are going behind the scenes of what MoonGlow is about and why I used certain elements when designing. If you have not, I recommend doing so, at the DA of 5B00-0087-746D. This will lead you to the town of MoonGlow.
The map of MoonGlow, as seen above, shows everything about the town from one view, but as you explore it, you will notice what's inside.
An interesting feature I put in this town is that I made both sides of the river look like two different worlds. The north side of the river has pink disco tile paths with red LED strips at the edges, a diversity of fruits, round streetlights and wood benches, sweet-olive shrubs, and red, white, and yellow tulips. The south side of the river has blue disco tile paths with cyan LED strips at the edges, exclusively perfect apple trees, street lamps and metal benches, holly shrubs, and pink, purple, orange, and black tulips. The beaches aren't except from the differences either. The eastern beach has coconut trees, and the southern beach has banana trees.
Because of how the river flows, I divided MoonGlow into three different regions: Western MoonGlow, Eastern MoonGlow, and Southern MoonGlow. Western MoonGlow includes everything north of the river at the Train Station Plaza and west of the Train Station Plaza. Eastern MoonGlow is on the same side of the river as Western MoonGlow, but it's only east of the Train Station Plaza and the river. Southern MoonGlow is the whole area south of the river.
Western MoonGlow does not have very many interesting PWPs or villagers living there. It has only Roald (a Jock penguin) and Holly (one of the human characters). However, all of the facilities we see in every town (Train Station, Town Hall, Plaza, Re-Tail, and most recently, the Campground) are in this region, so if I need to add a new PWP, buy things from RVs, or sell things at the Re-Tail, I can do it in this region. This is also where the outer end of the Big Lake is.
Eastern MoonGlow is more interesting than Western MoonGlow. The northern part has the largest community in MoonGlow. It has more than half of the animal villagers, and one of the human villagers (Morgan). But the southern part is beautiful. Towards the cliff, you can find the jungle gym near the community, the police station, and the lighthouse at the southeastern corner. Most of this part is taken up by MoonGlow's most natural area, the Campsite.
Southern MoonGlow is a smaller version of Northern MoonGlow, as it has its villagers, PWPs, and other attractions. But the paths, vegetation, and basic PWPs are different in this area. This is where the "glow" part comes from. Jordan lives right at the diving cliff as Andrea (the mayor) is along the beach and near three of the villagers. While Western and Eastern MoonGlow have more diversity, the more beautiful parts (IMO) come from this region. It has the Café and the dock to the Island.
The Cast:
In MoonGlow, the four humans are Andrea, Jordan, Morgan, and Holly.
Andrea is the mayor of MoonGlow as you know it. Back in 2015 when Happy Home Designer came out, I created this character as my main character in Happy Home Designer. According to her backstory, she was Kaylee's personal interior design teacher while Kaylee was out of school. When Kaylee told her about Animal Crossing and how she had her own town of StarFall, Andrea was interesting into becoming a mayor of her own town. The only town that was available for her was MoonGlow. When she first moved in, she was automatically elected as mayor.
Andrea is my California girl. Her house is based after Southern California, the part of California I was actually born in, as well as this 24-year-old woman that runs the town of MoonGlow. She was born in the winter, and her skills are interior designing and landscaping. She already has a family, where she is the mother of four children.
Jordan is the Texas boy. Although all four of them came from Houston (according to their backstories), this one was the only one born in Texas, and even he's not born in Houston. He was from the panhandle plains, also very rural. His house is based after Texas, including the three cities with over 1 million people. He enjoys parties, events, parks, and holidays. When there is a season change, he celebrates it. He is 20 years old as of December 2017. 13 weeks after Andrea took office, he moved in, being the first human villager to move in after Andrea.
Morgan is the one from New York. Being born in and living in cities, Morgan only likes the city life, as he hates being in small towns or in the country. He also doesn't like the southern US as much. The only state in the US South he likes is Texas, and even he still prefers to be in the cities. He is 16 years old, and was able to live on his own. Due to his hatred of country life and the wilderness, his house is in the most populated region in MoonGlow. His house is based on New York City and upstate New York (where you can see the natural forests). He has a wide variety of interests and skills, but of all the skills he has, he is never in first place when compared to Andrea, Jordan, or Holly.
Holly is the last human villager in MoonGlow. According to her backstory, she is a hunter that can hunt for fish, bugs, or anything in nature. She's also a great gatherer. She may be 12 years old, but she is very skilled and talented in nature. She enjoys nature, and likes to go outside. She can live without power for over 100 days, which is unusual for a person born in the 21st century. Her house is based after Florida, the third most populated state and the hottest continental US state in the winter. Her birthday is in the summer, one day before Independence Day.
The other villagers in my town are:
- Tex
- Flo
- Friga
- Hopper
- Iggly
- Puck
- Roald
- Sprinkle
- Cube
- Aurora
That's all for the introduction. For the next seven days, I will be showing pictures of my town while explaining what got me into designing the town like this.
