I've been working on this all day d: I need a lot more practice, but it was fun to try and challenge myself
also, I figured I should get rid of the giant watermarks bc they look pretty bad lol. Not going to lie, today felt like a struggle trying to learn how to use layer effects.. the more I learn and practice the farther away the next step feels ._. guess that's life

I feel more motivated now though!
To get all of the different colors in the hair I used overlay, multiply, and luminosity layers with a softer brush (and then just messed with the colors and opacity)

I just keep staring at everything! I also love how cozy she looks!

yes :3 cozy is what I'm going for! all warm and snuggly

yes, I'm not sure how your drawing software works but for mine I am able to change the effect of the brush (using brush settings) and/or change the effect of the layer using the dropdown toolbar above the layer viewer box (not sure what to call this).
Check your software to see if you have this because it's a life saver! I feel you, haha there is sooo much to learn. I should really focus more on basics like lighting/posing/and color, but instead I waste my hours playing with the layer effects .-. I'm hoping the basics just sort of come along as I go lol

Here's a commission I made for my friend's tutoring advertisement (they're pointing at the contact info on the ad). It's compressed, so that's why it's a little blurry.

Here's my dragon girl again c: I sort of forgot to draw in the wings and tail, but I'm too lazy to add them in at this point.

Lately, I've been in the gap between recognizing what looks good and being able to do it myself, so I've felt a little discouraged. I still recognize that I've made a lot of improvements though! My biggest complaint is my lack of considering the composition as a whole.. I'm still drawing stiff poses slapped in the center of the page d: I'll try to make my next piece more dynamic though
