More pro designs will be available.

So in the direct it was assumed that we would only be able to design the same things that we could in previous gen AC games and that the patterns that were found on the wall in Abel Sisters shop, were the only patterns we would be able to use for pro designs.

Well I'm going to take this tweet as evidence that their are many other items that we can design. Because it confirms that we will be able to design tank-tops and hoodies which were not patterns on the wall in the Abel Sister's shop. That's assuming designing a hoodie isn't just adding shaded areas to a regular t-shirt pattern to make it look like a hoodie. :S

Now I'm just hoping that shorts, skirts, pants and other bottoms will be patterns as well.

i saw that a little bit ago! it gave me some relief but i'm still waiting on seeing footage of someone actually designing a new article of clothing before i get my hopes up.

I really hope it's possible to design bottoms now. It was annoying not being able to have perfectly matching custom tops + bottoms in New Leaf. Also hoping we can design full outfits of different lengths/cuts like dress or overalls.
