What is the most expensive game in your possession? i am making this thread with collectors in mind, but if you dont necessarily collect video games and have something to share here, please do.

as for me, i am unsure what the most expensive game i own is. some that come to mind, i own all the Professor Layton games, a handful of Ace Attorney games, the original Silent Hill trilogy, and a lot of rare PS2/3DS games.

I apologise if there is another thread like this, but i couldnt find one.

I don't think I'm really a collector, but a few of my favorite childhood games really went up in value over the years. I think the biggest one is Pokémon HeartGold, and I still have the box, manuals, and the Poké Walker (which I think should be back to working order as soon as I get some new batteries for it). I'm seriously considering selling it (and maybe also Platinum and White/White 2 when I'm done playing the latter) to be honest, I like the mainline Pokémon games and all but I'm not sure I really see myself playing them again. I also still have a copy of Chibi Robo: Park Patrol on DS that I never played very much, and I think it's worth a decent bit now too.

I think Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is also worth a lot now, but it's far too dear to me for me to consider letting go of it easily. Same with the older Dragon Quest DS games. Miiiight let go of IV just because of how the party chat feature was cut from that version makes it very unlikely for me to replay it on DS again, but if I do I'm keeping the manual for myself dangit.

Havent priced check lot of them, but my friend gave me their almost in mint condition 3ds xl zelda edition. (Never played zelda) but love it neitherless they included bunch the pokemon games too!

... good question! A few games I have that are expensive now are Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Heart Gold, and the PS1 Valkyrie Profile.

I didn't start caring about keeping boxes and such until I was a teenager (always kept the manuals tho unless I lost them). I wish I had started earlier, but it's just not something you think about as a kid lol.

My most expensive game I currently own is a new-in-box copy of Pokemon Soul Silver, complete with Pokewalker. I picked it up for just $35 at Walmart in early 2011 (it was the last copy they had of either game), but never did end up opening it. I actually still have it tied up in the same Walmart bag I got it in.

i'm gonna have to go through my collection properly because i'm not entirely sure. i don't think i have anything considered rare? when reading the question my mind went to an old copy gamecube copy of luigi's mansion but i don't think that goes for very much nowadays. that's one of the few games i have from early on in my life. i unfortunately lost a lot of items/games i loved to family members, but as i got older i got better at keeping things in my collection.

in terms of more recent game, tears of the kingdom came up to a whooping $90+ in CAD which is pretty insane considering the system to play it on itself comes out to over $400 CAD 😵

the ebay prices for this are all over the place, but i’m pretty sure my most expensive is the Fire Emblem Fates special edition, but if we’re just looking at games on their own it would be Pokemon White 2

aside from those i don’t think i really have anything rare/expensive, i’m just going off of the prices i see in my tracking app

Hmm my Pokémon collection is worth quite a lot, I some of the gameboy ones, then diamond, 2 copies of pearl, 2 copies of platinum*, 2 heartgold*, soulsilver, and 1 each of the gen 5 games (except black of which I have 2 copies lol), and pokemon sky, and ranger, explorers of almia, all of which can go for $80-200 AUD.
I think either hgss or B2W2 are the most expensive though.
I also have a copy of Gravity Rush for the ps4 which I think can go for a bit? Not as much as those pokemon ones though.

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Platinum, BW/BW2, Diamond and Pearl, Style Savvy Fashion Forward (apparently it’s a really rare physical 3DS game), and Pokemon Ruby, LeafGreen, and FireRed.

I have some GameCube games that I bought at retail price years ago that are now $100ish each for resale. I haven’t bought any games at an expensive price though as I’m not a collector, I just have a lot of old games from previous systems :)

Just from briefly looking up average prices online, mine would have to be either Skies of Arcadia: Legends for the GameCube or Pokemon SoulSilver for the DS! SoA:L is due to its rarity, and SS is because, well, it's Pokemon lmao. I kept the boxes/manuals (+ the dead PokeWalker for SS), which helps with their values as well.

EarthBound (SNES, complete with box and game guide)
The most expensive, seemingly. It seems like prices range from $250 to $500 for just the game and then it can go into the thousands for the box and game guide included.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Current price online seems to be $250 and upward. I got it, complete in box, for $46 in 2011.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Prices range from as low as $70 to over $200 depending on box or no box, if it's factory sealed, etc. I got it shortly after Path of Radiance for probably around $70.

Pokémon HeartGold & Pokémon SoulSilver
A lot of price variance, but it seems like you might have to spend over $100 for even just one of them.

Other Older Pokémon Games
I own basically all of the other older mainline games as well, the only one I don't have is Pokémon Sapphire. Part of me wants to get it for completion's sake, but I don't really care enough to get a copy. Some of them are seemingly pricey too, just not as much as HeartGold & SoulSilver.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army
Between $150 and $200 seems the norm.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon
Same as above.

I think that's all of them. If I recall any others that might be worth a lot, I'll follow up with another post. There might be something that I wouldn't necessarily think of being highly in demand but actually is.

I have no intention of selling any of them since I love all of these games. Interesting to see what the prices are though.

I don’t know which game I have is the most expensive tbh, but if I had to guess, it’d probably be GTA V. As for the game I’ve spent the most money on with add ons, that’d be Fortnite lol

Most expensive games that have add ones that I own are LEGO Dimensions (a lot of expansion packs and sets), Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Mortal Kombat 11.

If you count toys to life games, then Skylanders would be 1#. I don't know how much I spent on the figures and games themselves, but I know it was a lot, and I still collect them to this day. Amiibo also count, but I stopped collecting them as I don't play smash bros since that game prioritizes on Amiibo.

If you don't count toys to life games, then let's say the Japanese copies of Pokemon Black/White and their sequels. Separately they were at least 90$ or more. Adding them all up brings a total of 360$. Still a lot, but not as much as my favorite toys to life game series that is now dead.

Technically The Sims, as I have every Expansion Pack from every installment. That's... pricey let me tell you. Especially back in The Sims 1/2 eras, I was a teenager and didn't have a job, so that money spent on that was gift money, which obviously I didn't get a whole lot of.

I bought a pre-owned copy of Cubivore for the Gamecube many years ago at Gamestop for around $23 and today prices for pre-owned copies are in the $400 to $1,400 dollar range. From what I've read, only 5,000 copies were made for the game's North American release. It's a decent game but I think its simple graphics and overall weirdness turned off a lot of people.

I got Kirby Planet Robobot new at GameStop and now that game is worth a lot on the second hand market. Same with all of the main series Pokémon games. I got Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl when they were selling for $35-40 at GameStop and now Platinum is worth a lot of money and highly sought after

I don't consider myself a collector because I don't have a job that allows me to, but I would like to become one in the future!
In my country Pokémon Platinum can reach 70 euros and more, I have both box and cartridge without manuals. I've all the Professor Layton games too, except for The Lost Future of which I only have the cartridge. The most expensive is "Professor Layton vs Ace Atterney" that can reach 100 euros.
I also have Pokemon Heartgold without pokewalker, but in my country isn't too expensive, maybe 50-60 euros?
All the other 3ds games I own are selling at more or less the original price.
