Title says it all. I had been playing on my switch lite, loving the game, no issues at all. But then I get a normal switch and play on my monitor for 15 minutes and need to lay down.

Theories? Is it because of a lower framerate? Maybe the size of the display? Anyone else experienced this?

Felt like I was gonna vomit. I have NEVER had an issue with motion sickness before. Is this something you get used to?

I only have this issue when I am running around. I have to look at my character, I can't look at the whole screen or I get nauseous. I am very sensitive to the panning motion, which is why I couldn't play City Folk, and could only handle the first game in short bursts.
I do notice that if I go from playing on the tv to the handheld it does bug my eyes because I am used to it on the tv, but like I said for me the only time I have this issue on the tv is when my character is running...you could try just looking at your character any time you are moving rather than the whole screen and see if that helps.

Yes maybe it will thanks for the reply

It also could be the new bouncy run animation

I haven't noticed that the run is new, but I do know every time I run if I am looking at the surroundings I start to feel queasy, so I try to be mindful when running around to just look at my character, or slow down if I need to see what is around me.

I'm not very sensitive to motion sickness or any sickness at all really. I couldn't tell you the last time I felt sick or felt like I was going to vomit. But I will tell you, if it has been awhile since I have played a game that requires me to move around (like minecraft for example) on the big screen, I will get that way pretty quickly. Or even watching my kids play a game like that. Not all games. Just the ones that involve that kind of movement or scene shift I guess. I don't know how to explain it.

It doesn't bother me. The only time I ever notice is is when I check the mail on my extra characters. They live all the way to the back on the top level. When I open or close the box the screen kinda rotates a little and did make me slightly nauseous at first. I don't have to do that much but I've gotten used to it now.

I only play handheld because of this. I tried connecting my switch to the tv once, and it immediately made me feel dizzy. I get motion sick from a lot of things though, so it wasn’t a surprise that it happened with this too

Is it the "rolling log" effect of the game? Maybe panning the camera upward would help when moving around?

OMG that would 100% be me, I struggle to watch films at the cinema LOL, not that this is a problem right now anyway.....

I just have a switch lite so I don’t have that problem playing animal crossing, but I have gotten motion sick from a screen before. I’m very sensitive to motion sickness.

I don’t know, sometimes even the switch on Handheld makes me motion sickness. Today for once. I think it’s just the graphics.

I haven’t had this issue with New Horizons, but I remember trying to play the original GameCube game back in late elementary school after falling in love with Wild World, and even as a kid who played all kinds of video games on a daily basis, I had to quit AC:pG because the movement of the screen made me want to throw up.

I don't have problems playing on the big screen, and I do prefer playing on my 24" and 32" screens more than handheld. It's probably due to the 30FPS. It really sticks out like a sore thumb in today's world where most games are running at 60FPS+. My phone has a 90Hz screen, so now I'm even more spoiled.

I know someone who had a TV that does some kind of frame blending, so when you dock ACNH, it almost looks like 60FPS. If you have the money to burn, that may be something to look into.

Most of us here likely have 60Hz screens, so I'd recommend using this test to see just how poorly 30FPS performs next 60FPS. If your monitor supports more than 60Hz, even better.

I had this problem with the 3DS and New Leaf. I eventually gave up the game I felt so terrible after playing for a few short minutes.

Yeah like others said, I have to look directly at my character when they’re running otherwise it’s a little dizzying. They should’ve just put it in 60 FPS to prevent this.

I have a switch lite, so haven’t had this issue with animal crossing. However, I have had it on laptop games including Minecraft. I think it may have to do with frame rate. Panning up and down definitely makes the motion sickness worse!
