Movies you hate/dislike that are concidered to be great

Can I just say that I actually don't like the Avengers (and most superhero movies in general)?

I mean, that movie itself wasn't that enjoyable from the story point of view and that movie is just made to sell Marvel stuff. Guardians of the Galaxy is alright and Infinity War is the only Avengers movie that is pretty servicable but that's because there's actual tension especially the villain.
YES. The only one I saw in the theater was Wonder Woman. I thought it was kind of slow, and I know it was supposed to be a feminist movie, but male characters complimented her looks so often, it took away from the movie. Maybe I’m being nitpicky, but I didn’t vibe with it.

Anything Disney/Marvel; they’re too cheesy for me (Marvel) not to mention they’re supporting a genocide.

A couple months ago, I learned about some issues with the portrayal of cultures that there are with Aladdin too. It was a long time favorite of mine so it really disappoints me and bothers me (not that I am surprised since I know old cartoons and movies have been known for having racist and politically incorrect content in them).

The last of us - both the game and movies since the writers are major Zionists (Israeli major nationalist party that supports illegal settlements) and the story too has some of Israeli policies in it.

Harry Potter - the books were great but the movies with the exception maybe the last one were always disappointing to me. Book 5 and on did feel very rushed though. On top of that, I don’t like Jk Rowling, never have even when she first got famous.

I’m honestly just not a movie person and prefer anime over hollywood films.

Watching Oppenheimer was an autistic nightmare for me. It kept triggering sensory overloads for me with some of its higher pitched sound effects yet it was so boring for me that I kept falling asleep out of pure boredom. A really weird combination of things to go through at the same time. I remember I kept thinking, “When is this thing going to end?! I just want to watch Barbie!” For context a local art gallery was hosting this double feature presentation of Oppenheimer and the Barbie Movie as this contrasting presentation and it was free. I wasn’t working that Saturday and I thought it’d be fun to watch a couple of movies nominated for the Oscars before the Awards were presented and I could watch them for free without paying for some subscription.

I watched The Notebook for the first time recently and I thought it was boring. I guess, I don’t really enjoy romance movies.

I despise The Notebook! I hate how he was threatening to jump off the the Ferris wheel in order to get tje girl’s attention. I was like, “Girl, RUN!”

interstellar is okay, but not as good as people make it up to be 🤷‍♀️
Finally! Someone who agrees with me about it. I saw it with my ex, and I was getting pretty bored watching it.

Like it's not the worst, but I don't get the hype either.

The only marvel movies I really enjoyed are Deadpool. If you work at a theatre Marvel movies are just constant slammed in your face when they come out. Drowning in marvel everything, it was exhausting.

So yeah, not a big fan of it.

Yeah, I cant do Harry Potter anything because, like you, I dont like JK Rowling. Esspecially after what she said.

Romance is my least favorite genre of movies. I haven't seen it, but I have heard everyone absolutely loves it, and I just think it looks so cheesy and boring.

Part 2

Many. MANY. I do make myself watch all oscar nominations and well some I just can't sit through or leave me wondering *Why?*

I mean I watched Emilia Perez and this is a personal opinion. Bad BAD trans representation, and "how it works". Then the music, those lyrics, honestly some are pretty funny. But I still feel like it was a really bad movie, esspecially how they handled the trans aspect, how Mexican people are represented in it. Again. Personal opinion.

Rumor has it that Netflix was forcing it's way into The Oscars, and it's left alot of people confused.(Second rumor is Nosferatu got snubbed due to it)

I won't rant about all of them, but I could. Believe me any of the movies below I could rant about
--
Runners up:

-The Princess Bride (I just don't like it. It annoys me.)
-New Starwars Trilogy (Not the orginal, the new one except Rouge one)
-Saltburn: It made me nearly have a freak out. Not a bad movie. But it really scarred me
-The Irish Man. 😴
-Maestro (Dont get me started)
Brokeback Mountain (Terrible representation of a gay romance)

Ill probably be expanding this list
rouge one is Excellent i also loved solo mainly for its humour

this is technically just a play that got a full recording released on disney+ but i HEAVILY dislike hamilton. i mean, it’s innovative because it uses rap music to explain a historical moment but lin manuel miranda playing hamilton feels like a self insert fan fiction. i don’t mean to be rude when i say this but his performance is mediocre at best.
I was disappointing because i thought it would be a musical based on the play, i'm sure the play is great but i'm not going to sit at home watching it

I remember so many people raving about the first Avatar movie back when it was originally released. It was making tons of $$ and some people I know were watching it three or four times. When I finally saw it I thought two things:1.Fantastic special effects. 2.Why did they borrow the plot from Dances With Wolves? And couldn't they have named that stuff they were trying to get from the weird blue people's planet something better than "unobtanium"?It's like the filmmakers were so busy cranking up the special effects they forgot to come up with original ideas and an original plot and just slapped on a prefabbed plot that was used better in another movie.I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies and this one really let me down.
i like the movie but i agree unobtanium was such cheap naming

Yep, I sometimes think I'm the only one who isn't a fan of them. My whole family loves the series. Not me. Esspecially the movies.

very unpopular opinion but ...
Wicked I did not like everyone else in my family loved it and i'm usually a fan of musicals.
i did not like the plot and the only good part was defying gravity.
i just found it boring, and the whole colledge idea i dislike (really shiz university)
unpopular opinion but that's what this thread is for

i actually did not enjoy puss in boots the last wish. it was available on our tv to watch when it was released and my mom suggested we watch it, and while i absolutely loved the animation, i was not intrigued by the overall plot and execution. the whole concept of the "death" character caught my interest, but i was quite bored throughout the whole movie and even stopped watching nearing the end because i could not make myself enjoy it. i did hear it while i was in the kitchen making food and saw a little of the very final end scene when i finished though. my cousin wanted me to go to the theatres to watch it with her afterwards and i didn't want her to have to go alone, so i went then and thought maybe if i watch it fully through i might enjoy it the second time around, but unfortunately not. my cousin really loved it though so i was just glad she enjoyed it lol. idk what it is, i just didn't find it interesting or compelling to watch and got bored pretty quickly.

i am not a fan of marvel or superhero movies as well, guardians of the galaxy probably being my only exception.

This is not a criticism in any way but I remember watching The Hobbit years ago (out of obligation for my high school friends) and I just. Fell asleep 😭

My Neighbor Totoro. The animation is good and it's kinda cute but god this is such an unbelievably boring watch. I assume I would have loved it and held it in my heart forever if I watched it as a kid but I watched at like 18 and it just feels very overrated.

I'm gonna also say The Outsiders. Idk why but it seemed rough and kind of gross, then again I was only 12 when I saw it at school lol.

this is probably a wildly unpopular opinion but i absolutely HATE frozen. i think the story is incredibly weak, i find most of the characters unlikeable or boring, and the songs annoy me. i really just think the movie was (and kinda still is) so insanely overhyped for just no reason at all. disney already had the perfect movie about the love between two sisters and that's lilo & stitch!!

also tangled deserved the hype frozen got, not the other way around. tangled is 1000x the film that frozen is, damn it! 😭

Brazil came out in 1985 and I recall many film critics gushing over this movie.Me and a friend of mine rented it(on good ol' VHS) to see what all the hullabaloo was about. The run time for Brazil is listed at 2 hours and 12 minutes but geez,it felt twice that long.We were wondering if it was ever going to end.I like Terry Gilliam as a director and many people consider Brazil to be his best work but I gotta disagree(I'd say it's Monty Python and the Holy Grail).
