Multiple Files?

Do you think there will be a way to have more than one town for the Switch version? Or will it be like the DS one where different people all lived in the same town / house? My brother and I both play AC and it is fun to visit each others towns in New Leaf. If there is only one town it isn't as fun because then you can't play at the same time.

You'll probably be able to have more than one town based on whichever user ID you're playing on. That seems to be the case for all the Switch games so far, and I would genuinely be shocked if it were any different from Animal Crossing.

yeah, like kimi said, i think you could use different user IDs to have different towns. you could probably be able to have multiple save files for the same ID too, so you could still have multiple humans in your town. but i think the online services might cost more since you'd technically be paying for multiple people... (i'm really really bitter about the online services costing anything at all.)

There are family plans. My husband bought the online plan to play Diablo 3 and he was able to put me on his plan so I could trade pokemon with my bestie in another state.

I think you can in pokemon let's go which is a first for pokemon games so it might be possible for ac switch.

I hope so, it would be awesome to have multiple games on 1 copy of the game but as people said before you could just use another ID.

fwiw, nintendo probably considers each player character as a separate file

though, yeah. each town should be tied to a different user id, as others have mentioned before

I don't think they'll bother with this feature since now you can simply make a new user ID and play the game that way

It'll probably be attached to the User's ID since every other game has had it so different players share the same town, don't see a reason for them to try to change that now. Would honestly almost prefer they keep it the way it has been just because if they do the dream town thing again, people could tell stories through each different character and their homes, we wouldn't get gems like Aika village if they tried to change it up.
