This looks like a genre I've neglected outside of a few movies. A Buddy really likes a few British ones including Agatha Christie's Poirot. Murder She Wrote is of course another popular one. When I was paying for cable, I did see random episodes of Bones. The supporting cast happens to be a lot more likable than the leads.

Any fans here?

As far as old shows go, I used to love Murder She Wrote and Columbo. Those are the first ones that come to mind. I'll have to think on it a bit and see if I can come up with any newer ones.

I enjoyed Murder She Wrote and Poirot, too. Those were excellent. I haven't seen Poirot in a while, but I binged almost all of the Murder She Wrote episodes on YouTube when you were able to.

I also liked Columbo, Perry Mason, Matlock, and even some Heat of the Night once in a while. Not every episode of these featured murder, but it wasn't a rarity.

I attempted to watch Midsommer Murders on Netflix. It wasn't bad- but it escalated from 1 to 1,000 in literally five minutes. You have to have the stomach for it. lol

I like shows with real stories, like Forensic Files and Unsolved Mysteries.

I remember there was this show I used to watch every Saturday night as a kid called America’s Most Wanted, and a lot of the stories were in Florida, or if a murderer was in another state, they’d usually flee to Florida, lol. Well, the host lived in Florida, so that might ge why it was kinda focused on that state.

Either way, that show made me a brisk walker as a kid, didn’t want to run into any kidnapping murderers on my way home from school.

Also liked sone if the dhows mentioned above, like In the Heat if the Night and Matlock.

Ohh.. Murder, she wrote is good, probs bc it's cheesy and the 80s aesthetics and not so much the plot :p But yeah generally not a fan because they bore me unless it's like 80s or older.

If you're up for something a little quirky but still pretty good, there is a K-drama called Vampire Prosecutor. He can taste the blood of the victims to see the last thing they saw before they died. I thought it would be really cheesy, but it actually wasn't too bad.

I can't say that I've ever really had that much experience with the genre. The closest would probably be watching Detective Conan back when it was on [adult swim] back in the early 2000s. I should probably try to get back into watching it.

What I've always ended up watching more of, instead, have been more related to the real world and true crime. Stuff like Unsolved Mysteries, Buzzfeed Unsolved, documentaries, podcasts, etc.

I'll have to check out some of the shows mentioned throughout the thread. I've heard the names of shows like Columbo, Matlock, and Murder She Wrote, just never really looked into them.

Columbo rocks.

Love Peter Falk.

I thought of another really good murder mystery show, this time in anime form. I recently watched Everything becomes F: The Perfect Insider and it was a really good locked-room murder mystery.
