My Dog bit me

NOW WHAT?

My ****ing dog bit my face and now one side of my face has like 5 bandages

She was in my room looking out the window and My face was like next to her because I was looking out the window too to see what she was looking at the I started to pet her back or whatever then without warning she bit my face

so like what do I do

if I tell my dad he'll probably hit her with a belt or something

if I don't tell him he'll probably see all the bandages on my face and ask my what the hell happened

lowkey I want to text my mom at work and ask her what I should do but I'm scared

what do you guys think

I think your dad is horrible if he has hit animals in the past, so dontt tell him if you think he will harm the dog, on the other hand I think you should tell him and protect the dog if he intends to hit it.

Call your Mum before you do anything.

I don't think your family should own a pet then if he's gonna hurt it
Hurting an animal is the last thing you want to do when trying to teach them behavior
It just makes them hold a grudge and be more violent later

first off, **** your dad for being an animal abuser.
secondly, if your dog is aggressive you need to look into it because usually dogs don't bite for no reason.
they usually have to feel threatened or scared or something in order to bite or try to harm. i guess another question would be, if your dog a puppy that doesn't know better? my dog when she was a puppy would nibble on me and try to bite my nose but i corrected the behavior before it became a habit.

please contact your mom first and ask her for advice and weigh the pros and cons bc if your dogs aggressive like that it's not safe but if your dad is going to ****ing hit the animal i understand why it would bite if someone spooked it. poor thing's probably been hit by him before. disgusting.

I don't know if this is serious or not but if your dad is someone who even thinks about harming an animal you guys need to not own any. Give her to a family who will love her.

Firstly, clean out the wound(s) with alcohol and put neosporin or something on top of them with thoroughly cleaned fingers. Use clean bandages. This will help start the healing process if they aren't too bad.

Second, make sure to take not of any swelling and redness, and how much you are bleeding.

Third, you should also take an Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen if you have any on hand and are of the age that you're allowed to take them on your own.

It is likely you either:
1.) Spooked the dog & her reaction was to protect herself, or
2.) She was just trying to play and didn't know she was doing anything wrong

Based on which you think (take into consideration her age, how long you've had her, if she was abused by prior owner, etc.) put her in her kennel if you have one for her. If you don't, if you have a usual time-out spot for her that is inside (bc weather) leave her there.

DO text your mother and let her know what happened, and that it was an accident. If it seems to be swelling too much or bleeding too much ask her to take you to urgent care.

DON'T tell your dad what happened if you think he's going to abuse the dog. If he does happen to see you, act nonchalant about what happened and let him know it was an accident & that you already punished her.

Its okay to call the police over an ABUSIVE CRUEL NASTY MAN who treats animals like a punching bag.

I don't know if your even being genuine at this point because any caring person would have done something about it by now.

If this is 100% serious, I think you should just safeguard your dog or ask a neighbor if they can watch her until your dad gets some time to cool off and think reasonably

You should probably try to find a better home for her

I will second this. Please also don't call the police on your dad unless he is beating you - in which case, if you are fearing for your safety you may need to.

If your dog acts up often, it might be a good idea to find it a new home BUT if this is only one incident, it might just be an accident & that's something your dad needs to understand. Sometimes pets have accidents. That doesn't mean they're violent or should be punished as if they're violent.

Might I ask what the breed is?
