Hey, it's me again.
Glad you're taking some CC and making good use out of it. If you don't mind, I went over your original image to show what you could improve on.
Remember that in most cases, you will want your colors to work together, not against. This is called color harmony; the opposite is color discord. When you want harmony, you shouldn't use a color just one time in your drawing, but rather in multiple places. For example, you only used the red/brown in the pants, and greenish blues/ purples in the shirt. I roughly went in and airbrushed it to show you could have possibly harmonized your colors.
Also, remember that when you're working with values, turning it into a black and white version is the simplest way to check if your values are correct. In the example posted, you can see that the pants are mainly in the greys with little darks and lights. That's the reason why the brown shading may have looked awkward; there's too less of it and it is not rendered in well, but rather just slapped on.
Overall, I absolutely think that it's a stepup from the girl painting you did recently. The colors are more fun and more interesting to look at. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!
My edits are extremely rough and rushed because my tablet is nowhere to be found, so don't take them too seriously!
