My perfect fruit is turning into normal fruit?

This has happened twice now. I got a perfect apple, planted it, and when it grew it was just normal apples. Yesterday I planted two perfect peach trees and it grew into normal peaches? Does anyone know why this is happening?

Are apples or peaches your native fruit? Because they won't grow perfect trees unless they are.

Only your native perfect fruit will grow perfect fruit trees in your town.

 

[Kurugaya]

Perfect fruits can only grow on trees of your native fruit type, so you won't be able to grow either perfect peaches or perfect apples in your town. If, let's say, you have cherries as your native fruit, you will be able to grow perfect versions of these.
