I remember when I placed my first speaker I'd find a villager singing every other day at least. I currrently have lots more speakers all over my town now, but my villagers never sing anymore. I just occasionally see them dancing to the music. Anyone else having this problem?

My villagers stopped singing as much when I put the music on shuffle. Theh still do but not as much and sometimes when they are far away from the record player.

it's weird because i only have two speakers placed outside? maybe i'll try taking one away tonight and i'll see what happens!
Oh wow if it truly stops after just 1 speaker that would be... strange. I have like 10+ speakers in my island rn so that might be a better place to start haha

You know now that you mention it, mine haven’t been singing the last few days either—and I have zero speakers out and about.

I almost wanna day it stopped the day I finished the story section of the game, but that could be wrong. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

I thought I was the only one who had this. Af first my villagers were singing everyday. Now they just dance or sing acapella without a speaker in sight.
Luckily they never glicht but it's weird. I hope there's a sollution for this.

I have 3 speakers placed in front of the RS currently. My villagers love to sing and dance 🥺💕 Try placing a microphone out too. That's what I did just for fun, and now I always catch my villagers singing; not just the ones with "music" as a hobby

Just to confuse you all, I have two characters that sing sometimes and I have no speakers/music! I can only think that the children's teacup machine is nearby and maybe they pick up on that instead?

I have some speakers/radios out and a microphone, but I don't have any music playing on any of them. My villagers seem to go through phases where no one sings, and then suddenly they're singing again but no one is doing zoomies, etc.

I only have 1 speaker and yet it's the same glitch: they are dancing to the music but none of them are singing

It's weird seeing this because I was just realising the same thing on my island. Apollo was always singing - everyday without fail. Now I hardly see him, or any of the other villagers, singing. Maybe I have too many speakers dotted about playing different tunes? I don't think I have any more than I used to have though so idk what is going on.

I guess it's just random? Like I notice they don't always run around I guess if u change the music up every so often it helps

Some villagers have music as a hobby- they'll sing without needing a stereo nearby (when I had Ursala I always found her singing in corners- it was like she loved to sing, but was too shy to sing in front of others- so cute!). From my experience, they tend to gravitate towards songs that are playing somewhere on your island, though. (does necessarily have to be nearby, some of my villagers like singing K.K. Dirge, which is only played in the very back of my island by the secret beach for ambience- I still occasionally get "concerts" of it in the plaza)

Anyway, I haven't noticed anything really different, personally. My only question is- are these the same villagers as before? Or is it possible you had some music hobby villagers that moved and you're just now noticing a quietness that wasn't there before? I only ask because that happened to me, lol. I had a bunch of music villagers for awhile, and then I didn't, and my island felt so weird!

i havent really noticed! my villagers still sing so i’m guessing nothing has changed for me

I have notice that they sing the last song you place in a record player, no matter if you have a bunch playing or in shuffle mode. But I do think they won’t sing if every record player is shuffle mode. Try setting a single song in one record player at least. Btw altho everything I said I have heard them singing with a record player in shuffle mode. I know is confusing but that is what I have seen.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think it may depend on the type of speaker. I don't have the full list, but I've noticed there are some music players they will sing to, while there are others where they will only dance.

I had one villager who had a phonograph in her house, and she and other villagers would only dance in front of it, whereas if a villager has a record player or cute music player, they will sing by it. The turntable is another one I know of where they only dance and don't sing.

As mentioned above, one easy fix is putting a microphone by the speaker. I have a turntable and two microphones in front my plaza, and they will usually dance in front the turntable or sing into the microphone.

I used to have a lily music player and a microphone at my plaza. They get so distracted easily that they can't even finish a song or two.

I removed both and now no one is singing on my island.

So I have about 6 speakers around the island, sort of hit and miss with the singing. I have notice over the past few months more or my villagers just singing Acapulco instead of using the speakers. I'll try the microphone and see if that draws them in.
