mysterious villager dialogue today

hi friends, i was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to why i'm getting this ambiguous dialogue from all my villagers about something coming to my town? i've had a couple variations including a couple about an event being hosted for the first time but they don't actually name anything so i don't feel like they're talking about bunny day. i do have a fishing tourney coming up but i feel like since that's on the bulletin board they would also talk about that by name so i am very perplexed as to what they could be talking about. i'm wondering if they snuck something into the new update, maybe an npc returning or something?

i didn't get a photo but gala also said to me simply "i wonder what's coming, or who..." with no further context.

this has already happened in my town!

i thought about the fishing competition as well but i wonder why they wouldn't just say it by name! and why they're wondering what/who is coming if it's already on the message board.

I started getting that after I got to three stars today. I don't know if it is talking about that or the post about the fishing tourney that Isabelle posted on the message board yesterday. (I think it was yesterday, it might have been a couple of days ago.)

My villagers have been saying this too. I’m pretty positive this is referring to the fishing tourney. It has no correlation to K.K.’s arrival since my town already had him perform.

i think it's referring to either the fishing tourney, easter (not as likely), or earth day events. if they added something else that would be cool, but im not holding my breath.

Raymond told me this earlier and I didn't know what it meant until I remembered the fishing tourney is on the 11th. Or they could be talking about the bunny event on the 12th, I suppose.

I thought it was referring to Bunny Day, but could also be the fishing tourney on the 11th. Or maybe a hint at Earth Day since there hasn't been anymore updates on it yet?

i don't think it's the fishing tourney because my villagers are acting like it's some mystery rumored event and the fishing tourney is confirmed and not a mystery lmao

It is possible that it could be talking about Earth Day. But, it would make more sense for them to be talking about the fishing tourney. It is closer. The way it is worded makes it seem like something bigger than just a fishing tourney though.
