Mystery Island invite with full town?

I am curious.

I heard that you can use campsite villagers or Amiibos to force another villager to leave, to open a spot for themselves instead.

What about island villagers? If you got a full island and your dreamie shows up on an island tour, is that just bad luck then? Or can you still invite them to move in, even though your island is full?

unless you build a plot villagers won't show up on islands. And if you're at your final 1-2 you run the risk of a random villager showing up and claiming it. Then you will have to wait until someone moves out in order to hunt again, and even with help from friends it's actually hard to gather tickets to go on a lot of tours.

Sadly no, if there's no open plot placed on your island you won't find villagers on random islands. ):

I'm more curious about the rumour, that even with a full island of 10, villagers will still appear on the island tours and if you ask them to move in, it'll be a high chance they'll move in, once someone else moves out and a plot is free.

Others say no villagers show up, if your island is full.

that no villagers show up on my random islands now that I have 10 villagers. Yesterday a villager moved out so I once again had an open plot and villagers appeared on the random islands again. I didn't invite anyone though so Kyle just moved in by chance.

How do you keep an empty lot? Not fulfilling the furniture list? The same day I got the lots I built every furniture and all lots already were bought after that.

Oof so far for me it's been the case where they don't show up till you have an empty plot. What I've been doing is making it count, I guess? Rake in as many nook tickets as possible and go visit over and over and over again and you get a better chance.

I did this for Audie the other day. My peppy villager moved so I jumped on my chance. I had earned enough nook miles for 25 tickets and I even bought some off of others in exchange for bells or other resources I have since bells are not endless lol! I got a handful extra through this means and just went to town on it. Didn't get her though. Saw a ton of popular ones though! I saw Merengue and Lucky and Fauna. I was stuck on Audie though. The last villager on my last visit was Ribbot. :/// RIP lmao.

Same for me... I've been encountering a LOT of popular ones... Marina, Merengue, Audie, Judy, Zucker, Lolly, Bunnie, Fauna, Diana, Genji and more... but I'm dead set on finding Raymond and it's just not happening...
