N64 Hate Thread.

Everyone has different thoughts on gaming systems. Some people love the N64 because the great Nintendo and Rare titles, and that's enough for them. Some people aren't interested in meh Nintendo titles and great 3rd party support, they just want their Mario/Zelda ect.. I think that everyone can enjoy different consoles, and hating on any isn't a very positive disscussion and is sorta uneeded.

I have played all Nintendo, Atari, Sega, and alot of Playstation. I don't hate anything and am open to enjoy whatever each platform can offer. They are games, for fun, who cares as long as there is some enjoyable stuff on it.

Agree'd I'm not bashing anyone from liking anything, this is all my own opinion. I mean, heck I even own the n64 along with a decent sized collection. This thread wasn't aimed towards anyone or their opinion directly. I feel that the system is cheated with lack of good 3rd party games.

Definitely. Everybody has different interests. I love the N64, my brother loves his Xbox games, and one of my close friends loves the Gamecube. But it's cool cause we like what we like and if we don't like somethin? We don't play it! I personally am not a big gamer (like I'm actually pretty bad at most videogames lol) but if there's a great first person shooter for the N64 I'm willing to try anything!

I also agree that a thread intentionally stirring negativity isn't really something we should be having here.

I just recently (Like in the last couple years) became interested in collecting N64 games and merch. I've already got a whole list of like 30 priority games I have to get, and then I'll go to the more obscure games. My goal is to have a complete library of N64 games. Oh and I really want a console new in the box. I know it'll be a pain to get but it'll be awesome once I have it!

Would you be interested in seeing my collection?

These aren't ALL my games, a good amount of my stuff is currently in storage locked up. Here is half of my collection though along with my setup for my consoles. 20170729_222722.jpg 20170729_223311.jpg

Frame rate issue is a huge problem for Toy Story 2, graphic aren't horrible but still almost scare me. I feel a lot of it is hashtag with different level designs, camera is annoying. MUCH MUCH MUCH like bugs life, also the bosses are a bit weird for my taste and the only boss movie related is the final boss.

If you have such a big collection, why do you hate so many of the games? What's the point?

Childhood memories maybe? I have nothing against the console personally, and there are SOME GOOD GAMES for it. I mean what's the point of a lot of collecting? What's the point of even playing games? The N64 does have some decent party games/ multiplayer games, and at the time A LOT of these games were acceptable. Just compare a lot of these games from this era to games now. Most of them are simply outdated. The NES, SNES had something to offer most consoles don't today with the side scroll action, and side scrolling shooting etc. The N64 was trying to be the "future" which for it times, it was a big hit and amazed a lot of us. We need to sit down in this day and age, and actually review the games we once played. I've sat down and tried every games I played and games I haven't from this era and from what I've noticed, if it wasn't 1st party game OR Rare game it usually... sucked. Not saying SOME 3rd party games out there.

Hmm...I don't think this thread is contributing a positive environment to the Basement...

Agreed. But to be honest a lot of threads in Brewster's Cafe and The Basement don't contribute to a positive environment anyways.

No good 3rd party games, out of 300 titles maybe 20, even 30 at max worth playing. The 3DS is probably their best console, not counting the Switch. The 3DS can get all the NES and SNES you'll ever want, and they have a lot of remakes of the only decent n64 games. The GameCube wasn't a horrible console, Mario Sunshine would be a lot better without the blue coins. Not to mention the 3DS even had Luigi Mansion Dark Moon, basically a port of the original just stripping out the personalities of the original ghosts.

I don't see an issue with having a discussion or a debate about other people's opinion on the N64 or Nintendo consoles in general. Just keep things mature, and not bash anyone directly.

But you specifically made this thread to hate on something. That doesn't sound positive to me.

And I play my 3DS a lot but there are very very few games for it I actually like. I can't say the same for the N64.

I did aim towards discussing the poorside of the system, and no it doesn't sound positive but it did catch people's attention. Anyone will easily debate something if someone is against something they like. I'll go on a limb here and say I love Nintendo, and I do have a heart for each and every console. Now, if I had to choose which Nintendo console I HAD TO HATE or SAY WHICH ONE WAS THE WORST that was mainstream, it was have to be the N64 (I'm not including the VB, or their Original pong consoles)
