(NA) Series 2 Amiibo Cards released today!

*cackling joyfully from behind my full series 2 set in their appropriate album* Oh is it now? I bough the JP box so I've had them for a while now, mostly because I couldn't even wait... so yeah. I still need to finish my series 1 though so I am about to start trading a bunch of Series 2 for Series 1. And then start buying some of the Series 3 from Japan, don't know yet if I am going to go for the box yet or not...

I bought 33 packs, 10 each from two different Best Buy stores, 4 from one Gamestop, 6 from another Gamestop. The other three were bought from Amazon and are on the way.

I just finished opening up 30 packs of cards and got 87 cards.

That's a nice grab! Congrats! :D

Haha I bought 1 pack because the GameStop guy told me I should. I got Butch, Rocket, Egbert, Benedict, and Felicity.

That says a lot about drawing duplicates.

I have to say that I considered buying somewhere between 6 and 8 packages to cut down on duplicates. But, I wanted a lot of villagers. And now I want a lot special characters. So, I have bought, so far, 16 packages. And apparently I have 66 overall characters between those 96 individual Amiibo Cards.

The ones I'm really wanting, from both Series #01 and #02, are to have the Amiibo Cards of all villagers I have in my first town Applewin. There are a combined six of those villagers featured in Series #01 and #02. I have half of them: Julian, Phoebe, and Tia (Series #02). But I do not have any of Jambette (Series #01) and Kidd and Scoot (Series #02).

I'm guessing, and this is crazy, one may have to buy about 35 Amiibo Cards packages in order to likely meet getting all 100 cards from a given Series. That's 35 Amiibo Cards packages for each Series. In U.S. dollars, with six in each package, that totals $210 (estimate). It may be more like 40 Amiibo Cards packages (estimate of spending $240) which likely gets one to reach getting all 100 individual villagers/special characters from a Series. And it is no wonder people go ahead and get involved in trading. (I am considering it…but would have to get organized first.)

I saw a post on Reddit where a user got all the Series 2 cards, but they bought something like 54 packs.

I will update my status with my previous post on Page #02.

I purchased more packages today. In all, I have bought 30 packages. And I have, according an app I have (from my iPhone), 83 of the Series #02 Amiibo Cards.

I should get involved in trading.

I now have all my Applewin characters who appear in Series #02. I had drawn Julian, Phoebe, and Tia from the U.S. release date, 01.22.2016. Today [01.24.2016], I bought plenty more and was able to draw Kidd and Scoot.

It surprised me most that I had a poor showing in drawing the special characters. (I have 11 of the 17. I drew a lot of Chip and Jack.) And of the villagers, I am needing to draw at least Filbert and Rodney (who are in my third town Foster).

It doesn't surprise me that Klauser_Bateson mentioned that he/she read "a post on Reddit" which, according to its author, says he/she numbered the Amiibo Cards purchased at 54 packages in order to be able to draw all 100 individual Amiibo Cards. That totals $324 (minus any applicable tax).

Again…it is no wonder people trade.

It is time for me to get to working in organizing my duplicates.
