Name Change?

ii just have a question about when changing your username, if anyone can help answer.. it says it either costs

1200 bells
10 seashells

ii have the 10 seashells, which ill probably do.. bht......

does it take the Seashells/Bells automatically, or AFTER you have made a decision on your name? like what if ii choose a name and its not available, and ii dont want to do it anymore?

are you told whether the name is already being used or no?

Actually, you would have to purchase the item first from the shop, and then make a thread in Contact The Staff asking for the username you want. A staff member will let you know if the name you want will not work out or if it is taken, so then you just edit your post and try again. I’m afraid that’s the only way. Once you buy the item from the shop, you might as well use it, because you cannot get a refund. I hope this helps.
