A few days ago I decided to make a rock garden. I put a pattern on the ground everywhere but the 6 spots that I wanted the rocks to spawn in. The first 4 days I got rocks in exactly the spots that I had prepared. The last 3 days in a row I have only gotten weeds in the remaining 2 spots. I have been over and over my island to see if maybe the other 2 rocks spawned somewhere else and they haven't. I have had friends over, looking and they do not find any rocks except the 4 that are in the garden. Every day I am getting weeds in the spots designated for the rocks. Can anyone give ANY ideas on why I cannot get those last 2 rocks? Thank in advance.

Disregard, My wife suggested that the bottom and top spots were too close to the orange banner and that instead of the banner I should plant flowers and see if that helps. I disagreed but planted the flowers. I changed the date to tomorrow and I'll be darned if I didn't have another rock. Now just waiting on the last one, hopefully, tomorrow. Thanks again.

To better explain how the Rocks work you have to play the game 6 full days in order for it to respawn after you destroyed it after eating a fruit. Only then it will spawn in a different place. If you want my advice don't let them spawn by the flowers. I had that happened to me several times that I had to make to use Weeds to stop it from spawning in. It is an annoying process thats for sure. It took me a long while to get all 6 rocks in one spot on my main island (Destiny) but it was worth it.
To get to the point you have to make sure that you block off areas where rocks will spawn if it has like a 9 square tile. What that means is that it will spawn there where you can hit the rock several times for the materials or bells to come out. Someone on YouTube suggested using custom designs to block them off so you can manipulate the game into spawning the rocks in the location you want it too. Its a long and complicated process so I hope this made more sense.

Thanks for the help. I understand what you are saying about playing the 6 days. I have now time-traveled ahead 9 days (one at a time) making sure that I do some chores each day and I still cannot get the last rock to spawn. You mentioned 6 FULL days, is there like a time limit that I have to stay for each day? This is driving me crazy. I am so close but yet so far away. Again, thanks for the help.

you dont have to play the day fully. i just checked for the rocks and then saved and time traveled to the next day. but i think you can even just time travel a week at once. if its not spawning where you want it can only have these reasons:
1. it spawned somewhere else. REALLY search your island up and down. like every space. i thought once i looked everywhere but i didnt and wasted a lot of time because of that.
2. the area is not made for that rock. i cant really tell from the picture but maybe its too close for to the cliff or something else.
3. the game just dont want the rock there. idk sometimes it doesnt really have a reason but i cant spawn it there (same happens with some trees). open up a different spot just to see if the rock would spawn somewhere else.

When I say 6 days I mean logging into the game day by day and saving and quitting everytime. If you just skip full 6 days then it will not work.
Boy, this is crazy. I did go day by day logging in did a couple of chores saved and logged out. Went to the next day for 9 days. I DID search every inch of the island numerous times as did friends. There should be plenty of room for it to spawn. I don't know. Thanks again for the help.

No problem and again I know how annoying and complicated this process is so you're not alone.
the game by design gives you weeds as like a real life feel aspect. if you have something like 150? (sorry i can't remember the number) weeds on your island, no more weeds will spawn. i think what's happening is your island is randomizing the priority between weed spawn and rock spawn.
so plant some more weeds in some pattern spots, remove them after the rock spawns and you should be good.

Shellbell, that seems to have worked. I put down about 225 weeds then TT to the next day and there was my last rock. I now have them all right where I want them. Thank you very much to all that helped. Have a great day.

It has to be a spot that has 9 squares where the rock is in the middle and its when you are hitting the rock that causes the materials/bells to come out of it.
