New Bugs and Fish

In one of the videos from the website, the player catches a ?wasp?, rather than a bee. Maybe the bees just hurt you as usual, while the wasps are stronger and make you faint?

In another video, a player catches a ?damselfly?. I think this is a new bug?

I?m not knowledgeable on Animal Crossing fish so I don?t really know what?s new and what?s not when it comes to that, but perhaps someone else here does.

Also, so far we have seen no return of the diving mechanic from New Leaf. Was it cut to make room for improvement to the bugs and fish as a whole, or do you think we just have yet to see it?

i’m pretty sure the damselfly is new! and in one of the clips in the direct, there’s a purple butterfly that was introduced in pocket camp. and i think there’s some new fishes too that were seen in some of the clips on the website but i hope there’s some new sharks, too! i know new sharks were introduced in new leaf but it’d be great to see some more since we live on an island ^*^

also, i just really like sharks lmao

Neither wasps (there were honeybees and bees) or damselflies were in New Leaf, so they're definitely new! And I suspect there will be a lot of new critters in the game.

I was thinking diving might still be a thing as the Sea Angel (the slug thing from the encyclopedia fish page) lives pretty deep in the ocean - and other slugs could be captured while diving. On the same note though, angler fish also live in the deep ocean and could still be reeled up when fishing in New Leaf. Either way, it's all pretty up in the air.

Here's hoping diving returns!

The butterfly is actually from the GC era, which I thought was nice, I wonder if they are bringing back older bugs/fish

I think I'm going to spend a lot of time fishing and catching bugs in this one, I really didn't do that much in New Leaf.

Wasps are actually just renamed from bees, so they are the same creature.

they've probably added quite a number of new bugs and fishes now that they'd had to really update everything. the game's core features were already expanded so why not the collectibles? i guess if that were the case, it'd be a bit more irritating to catch all the new things, but if you have a friend who chose the opposite hemisphere from you y'all both could finish the collections in just two seasons with dedication.

I think they just turned the "bee" into a wasp. And I'm really happy if they did, because it makes much more sense imo

Another thing I just noticed! In the clip where the player has a permit, you can see a ladybug, and they don’t just stay still anymore! They can now fly from flower to flower!

This game is going to be amazing.
