New horizons/new switch

Does anyone know if New Horizons will work on the new Switch Lite?

It was just announced, we might not find out for a while. Although, the switch lite's release date is close to the original release date of New Horizons.....coincidence? Maybe.

Well, I don't see why NH wouldn't work in handheld mode. They've announced that you can play any game that can be played in handheld, so I'm gonna go with yes...but maybe I'll eat my words in a couple of months when they announce that actually no (but I'm sure they won't).

I don't see why not. Over 2000 will be playable. Though the following games aren't playable, but you can surpass this by purchasing joy cons.

- 1, 2 Switch
- Just Dance
- Super Mario Party

Yes it will, and I’m ready to bet a month’s wages that Nintendo will have an Animal Crossing themed limited edition of the console to launch with the game.

With that being said, I use my Nintendo Switch docked and full-sized on my TV screen 95% of the time. Nintendo Switch Lite is useless to me. I’d rather Nintendo releases a beefed up Pro model with better graphics performance.

They stated all Switch games will work on the new model. You just won't be able to play the games on the TV or in table top mode (there's no kickstand). It can use the detach joy-cons so you can plays games like 1-2 Switch and Super Mario Party. Switch Lite does not have HD rumble and IR motion. It does have gyro.

Switch Lite was created for those who are on a budget and kids. Also for people who prefer handheld systems.

I have a feeling that a majority of those who are happy for the Switch Lite are in a home where the tv /switch is shared, so they can play on their own time without a console. (Also the cheap people! "Hi, I'm Saucey and I'm cheap")
The Majority of people who wouldn't purchase a switch lite, are probably in a home, (perhaps on their own or have their own tv/switch) where sharing isn't an issue.

I have a switch. I wouldn't purchase the lite because well I already have one and I find it unnecessary. Would I be down to purchase it in some future? Sure! I rarely use the dock though since I'm rarely home due to work and when I'm home my dad hogs the tv ): So Sunday for only 2 hours I am able to dock it so I'm here playing handheld but its truly more convenient for me anyway but playing on the huge tv screen is really fascinating to me lol

It's just another Switch, but different. It'll still have the same functions as a regular Switch would (Except for what Nintendo announced it won't have compared to regular Switch)

Short Answer: Yes.

I would happily purchase a Switch Lite. If cause it's cheaper, and the TV in my house is usually being used up until around 10pm.

I fully expect it to work and for there to be a NH-themed console. The number of titles that don't work on the Switch Lite will be rather small.

It absolutely will. The only games that it won't support are the ones that were created before anyone envisioned the Lite was going to exist. The AC devs certainly knew about this 'limitation' long ago

If anything I could see a bundle with a special AC skin similar to the 3DS

Probably seeing as Animal Crossing has always been a great handheld game. I would probably buy a lite if I didn't already have a switch since yellow is my favorite color. I just hope they do a regular AC switch bundle because I'm going to want to play it on the Tv.

TV playing is where it's at :)

Agreed, 95% of my Switch playing is on TV... I'd bring it more but it's not portable enough. D:

I was hoping the Switch Mini or Lite would be small enough to bring out more often than the current bulky Switch, but the lack of TV out is a deal-breaker...

An Animal Crossing edition Switch Lite would be tempting though!

Also, I think portable mode is perfect for getting any "chores" done while your out and have a couple spare minutes at a time.

i don't think the switch is bulky at all right now, and if you think that's bulky, the switch lite is honestly not that much smaller.
that point aside, i would definitely consider getting an animal crossing edition switch lite unless they released an animal crossing themed switch pro or something!

It's not exactly cheap, it's only $100 less than a regular Switch here.

I would rather the bigger screen.
Moot point for me until games can save to at least, an SD card.

most games do support cloud saves and also it IS cheap compared to the price point of past nintendo consoles and even handhelds!
