New player: Nook Miles hairstyles, colours, emotes have disappeared?

Hello! I'm an old playing starting a new island.
I try to get hairstyles (fab and stylish), eyes (pink, yellow...) skin (blue, green...) colors and emotes we can normally buy day one but they are missing. Is it permanent or do I have to wait to unlock them? I remember on my old islands, I was able to buy them quite easily.

Are you past the tutorial phase yet? I believe you have to reach a certain point in the game.

Yes, I'm on day two and these items are still missing.
I remember before we could buy them immediately. We also had a mail the same day telling eyes and skin colours were available.

I'd assume you need to have the K.K. Concert, as that marks the real start of the game in my opinion and opens a lot of stuff up.

That's weird because on old islands it was possible for me to buy these colours, hairstyles and body paint day one.

If I remember, the expanded body paints, eye colors and hairstyles were only available after halloween, before being made available generally. As such, I think you do need to have the KK concert first.

Will be annoying to wait about one year before unlocking them if it's the case. So I do hope these will be available later and not just during or after Halloween.

No problem. Not sure, but I don't think they're still locked behind the halloween event, since the 2.0 update. So you should see them after you've seen the KK concert and you likely won't have to wait until halloween.
