Hi all 👋🏼

I'm new to the Animal Crossing games and I sort of feel like I should be doing more. All I have been able to do so far is fish and collect shells/fruit (the net has not been for sale for me yet 😔)

Only been playing for 3 days, and have only just got the island unlocked, and my permit to build.

How does the multiplayer work on this game?

If anyone wants to help me out, I'm looking for other towns to visit and trade with, no one under 18 though, if that's not too much to ask.

Hi, I'm a pretty new player myself to ACNL, but I read all of the online guides to be as efficient as I can in the game. I'm happy to help you with any questions you may have about the game.

Have you been able to get a net in the game? Since you're in the beginning stages, if you talk to Isabelle enough in Town Hall from the front desk, eventually she'll ask about catching bugs, and she can offer you a net to buy.

With the island unlocked though, you have access to all of the tools through Lloid when you visit the island. Just walk down all the way out the back of the island building. Here, you can catch rare bugs & sharks that are worth a good amount of bells when you sell back at your Retail. Just place the critters in the basket next to Leilani.

Multi-player works by talking to Porter at the train station, and visiting other towns of players who you have their FC of in your game.

I kinda did the same, but I think I may have overloaded myself a bit. Finally got the net, took 4 days for it show, but I have it now. With Isabelle I said I wanted I to do fishing because I thought she was gunna ask for a fish 😅

I've been to the island a couple of times and it did feel like it boosted the game a little, got quite a few creatures for the encyclopaedia, and a few new fruits to plant.

Only just found out this morning after running some tours that the diver Dan is not the actual dive suit 🤦‍♂️

My friend code is 3497-5179-7139 if anyone wants to add me.

Hi! I Just added you because I'm also looking for friends. I'm a veteran Animal Crossing player, but I'm on a completely new save file as of 2 days ago. I can help you out with anything you might need (knowledge-wise), and we can work towards things together in-game if you'd like! My FC is on the left there, under my profile picture.

I've added you back.

The main thing I guess I'm not sure on is what's the aim of the game? The past few days all I've been doing is trying to fill my encyclopaedia and museum. I just keep getting the same fish/bugs. I have like 300k just sat there from selling everything that I already have 😅

The main aim of the game is to pay off your mortgage and set up public work projects around town to make your villagers happy! (And to eventually receive a 5 star "perfect" town, signified by seeing Jacobs Ladder flowers appearing in your village). Also, more of an endgame goal is to get the silver and gold sets of each tool (guides are easily findable online) and also to make your town look how you want it using patterns/"paths" (there's a lot of QR code patterns people share online for this), and additionally to collect villagers photographs that they give you when you max out their friendship rating (an invisible stat you can't really track in-game).

The beginning of the game can feel slow, but with the additions of the Island, the QR Code Machine, Shampoodles, Brewster's Public Work Project and subsequent Minigame, the Police Station, upgrading Nooks Cranny, etc it really grows into something special and my main goal when I turn on Animal Crossing is to just have fun and see what things my villagers are gonna say or have me do next. It's a lot more open than New Horizons. It's mostly a game that is fun because of what you make out of it, which is what the core of the game was all about since it's creation. If you wanna know anything I talked about here in even more depth let me know!
