So after having been gone for the better part of the year, not even wanting to look at the game from severe burnout, my fingers are itching to pick up the game and play again. However, my mother does not play anymore, and I do not feel connected to the island because it was something we shared. So I had the idea to do like I have done before and restart, so the island is 100 percent mine at the beginning of the year. I wonder if anyone will take the plunge and start with me. Maybe we can share our island progress? I am looking for people to play alongside or occasionally visit on the weekends when I am free from work. But also someone to push me a little. I have never made it a whole year in an animal crossing game, mostly because I play by myself; I would like to challenge myself to do that this coming year.

I think restarting is a good idea. I recently restarted my second island because I wasn’t feeling attached to it anymore. It’s been so much fun restarting.

Well, maybe we can reset together and visit each other's islands. I don't plan on time-traveling. I have never been one too, but I plan on at least playing through the beginning scenes at midnight and then retiring for the early morning to play more when I wake up. So that I can say the founding day is midnight on January 1, 2023. As for the theme, I am thinking of doing a wild woodland theme with the houses and stores tucked away in little pockets of groomed wilderness but also having the landscape look somewhat untamed. I don't know. It sounds good in my head. I was leaning towards Wildberry Island or Meadow Glen Island.
