NEWBIE HELP - why do TBT seem to be more in demand than IGB?

I'm kinda baffled by the fact that players seem to prefere TBT, I know that 10 tbt = 200k igb? But how can you redeem it in your game? help with that? HELP

that's just the typical exchange rate here for players making private trades of tbt for IGB. the two players would have to trade the IGB in one of their ACNL towns. tbt currency can be used here in the foru shop, or in private transactions between members often for ingame items, or for the forum collectible items you see displayed under user avatars, or for art...

You can buy more stuff with TBT, and it's easier to exchange. You also can't powersave or hack TBT.

I agree with this. Trading with IGB is a hassle, because you have to add their FC, then open your gate, then close your gate, and so on. Trading with TBT is just easier.

Collectibles seem to be a very popular aspect of the website and I can understand why now that I've been introduced to them, they're surprisingly addictive. But there is also the convenience of account services like name changes, coloured titles, wider/gif avatars, inbox adjustments, so they're pretty handy to stock up in case you ever want to apply any of these changes to your account. Both can only be bought with TBT, I really love the system more than I initially thought I would.
