Newbie needs a friend to guide her

I just got ACCF for Christmas and had never played it before then. I'm so addicted that I bought my daughter ACWW for her DS. Now I'm trying to learn about opening the gates and visiting people. Is there anyone who sincerely wouldn't mind giving me a tour of your town and maybe sharing some fruit? I've gone to other sites and some of the people weren't friendly, so I'm hoping it will be different here. Oh yeah, my fruit is pears. Thanks in advance!
