Has anybody noticed that some of the newer villagers have different hello waves than what their personalities normally give them? Normally it’s dictated by sub-personality which gives them their social level, and every personality has one or two waves, but I’ve noticed a few of the villagers have waves that others of their same personality don’t. With the Sanrio villagers, Rilla does the one handed wave instead of the two handed wave all other peppies do, Marty and Chelsea do the dainty finger wave that normally only certain crankies and snooties do (and they don’t respond to reactions which means they’re low social level), and Toby does the two handed wave even though he has the smug sub-personality for the one handed wave. The thing is I also noticed a few of the 2.0 villagers do the same: Shino does the one hand wave just like Rilla and Quinn does the one hand wave even though her sub-personality should be the two hand wave. I noticed Sasha and Ione are regular, but I haven’t had anyone else move in. Has anybody noticed any unique hand waves from the other new and DNM villagers from the 2.0 update?

Honestly, I've never paid so much attention to their waves and reactions! This is actually kinda interesting though I don't have any different villagers to test this on yet....Where did you find the information on their sub typings and waves?

This post here is an amazing guide into sub-personalities, who has them, and what differences they have. The big thing I noticed is a lot of the new villagers from the Sanrio and 2.0 update don’t follow the same rules for the “social level” section that is otherwise 100% for all the base villagers. You can see the sub-personalities for all the newer people not listed on their Nookipedia page.
