Nintendo has been constructing a museum to help showcase its history, with the museum set to open on October 2. The Direct showing off the museum can be viewed below:
Are you interested in going to the Nintendo Museum? Do you like the idea/concept of it? If you want to go, are there any interactive exhibits you're interested in trying out?
Personally, while I have no interest in going to it since I don't like to travel, I do think it looks neat and it'll be a good experience for anybody who does go to it! It'll definitely be nice to view and learn about all of Nintendo's history in one place. I do think all the different toys being used for the exhibits will be fun to play with as well.
I would never specifically travel with the museum in mind, but I think it looks pretty cool! if I ever happened to visit Japan I would probably try to stop by if I had time but it wouldn't be a major priority most likely
I watched the Direct, and if I ever found myself in Kyoto, then I'd probably want to stop by and check it out. I would love to go to Japan someday, but I'm not sure on the exact cities and such I'd want to visit if I did. As for the exhibits, the different games look fun, and it would be interesting to try out the giant controllers. And I love to learn about the history of things in general
I think it looks really cool and I’d love to go!
I feel like there’s a few missed opportunities with historical Nintendo accessories or prototypes that could’ve been on display but aren’t though.
I’ve been watching the fan reactions on Twitter! It looks really cool. I live in Japan so I’m definitely going to go once hype wears down. It looks like a lot of fun.
However, Kyoto is hell now due to overtourism (I’ve been avoiding it the past few years but even just passing it on the bullet train I was in shock and what it’s become) so it’s a bit unfortunate this is going to add to the issue
I wouldn't have any interest in traveling to see it, but I think it's a great concept, and I love that there will be somewhere public dedicated to keeping Nintendo's history! Interactive exhibits are so common in museums now, and I can't think of a better place for interactive exhibits than a Nintendo museum, so that's cool.
I would love to visit someday! I was pretty excited for this when it was first announced and I'm so happy to see the end result! Would love to see everything in person
Also, I need the stuff from the museum store. Particularly those controller shaped plushes. I need them.
I was actually fortunate enough to go last fall! I really loved the top floor showing the evolution of systems and games. I especially loved to see how the box art and game titles changed between regions. The bottom floor was fun, but honestly I think I liked the top floor more. I did have a pretty funny experience with the shooting range game, though. I was on an end, so I pretty much had to shoot targets off to the side. I ended up winning with a pretty high score, and when the guys next to me left, they were saying they didn’t win because I was going into “their” area, lol. I also loved the Ultra Hand game.
The shop was great, too! I got some cool items and I appreciated the limits on each to avoid resellers from taking advantage. The whole thing was very organized and a great way to spend the afternoon.
