Nintendo Online Game Store ( Please Help)

Hello

I have never bought from the online Nintendo store before and I have received a gift card to use.
Seeing as there is a sale which I think is due to E3 maybe?? I just wanted to know do I need to have online membership to buy these as mine as expired or am I all good to add the gift card to my wallet and start buying games?

Also edit: I am looking at the game ( Calico ) and wanted to know if anyone has played it and liked it ?

I have bought a handful of games and DLC in the past without the use of an online membership so you should be good on that front. However, due to the recent system update, there have been widespread issues from people saying that they're struggling to download games and updates to their system. I bought Okami HD a couple of days ago and faced this issue, but eventually overcame it. Basically, you have to keep retrying in hopes of it working. I'm not sure if you updated your Nintendo Switch to version 12.0.3 because if you did, you'll face the same problem I mentioned. If not, I think you'll be fine, but there's no guarantee.

Finally, I've never played Calico so I can't provide my two cents there.

I've got Calico, it's very cute, there's lots of different outfits and animals to befriend, but doesn't feel like a completely fleshed out game to me, but then again it's cheap so I'd say it's worth the price.

Like others have said, you don't need a membership to buy digital games in the estore.

As for Calico, my sister actually just bought this game a few days ago on sale and absolutely loves it. It is so cute and fun that I might just buy it too! Its a game about managing a cat cafe where you are suppose to learn cooking recipes and sell baked goods. You can then use the money to buy furniture to decorate your cafe and bedroom, clothes that are fully customizable, among other stuff like magical potions that do cool things like make your hair glow at night. You can also pick up, pet, or ride all animals (animals include cats, capybaras, bunnies, and more!). Its very cozy and cute
