Update 11.0.0 just dropped and now there’s a big red circle on my home screen for Nintendo Switch Online and it upsets me.

But other than that, NSO mrmbers can finally use cloud saves to transfer data to another system.

You no longer have to upload images and clips to social media to save them to your phone easily, we can use QR codes now.

You can also transfer screenshots and videos to your computer via a USB cable now.

You can change button mapping

And some other stuff I don’t care to mention.

Took a whole 3 years to finally get some highly requested (and expected from out the gate) features. Better late than never I guess.

Though, I don’t think I’ll get over that giant red circle...

I believe the button mapping was a previous feature added in 10.0, it is not new.

Thought so, kinda blazed through the list. Now you can change the name of your button mapping presets.

Im so happy that now is available Brazilian portuguese for the system
Is a small step but somehow im excited that maybe someday we will have translated games from nintendo

wdym 'big red circle'

I personally don't find it all that "big" but this is what they mean:

Its not big at all as its the same size as the other icons, but it does certainly standout among the others.

I wouldn’t call it a small red circle, lol.
Wish they just used the same gray background as the other icons.

hm. i’m honestly not bothered by its size but your feelings are completely valid!! i think my only ‘complaint’ about it is just how much it stands out in contrast to the other applications; it’s not a big deal at all and i’ll likely get used to it but still, it’s definitely a little bit of an eyesore aha. ><

oof..... so i kinda hate the new red circle :( it's too much of an attention grabber if you ask me. seems like another way for Nintendo to try to get people to buy the online membership 😒

also, has anyone else's game crashed since the update? like i was just playing botw like a good child and it said the system had an error. could it be related to the update? : P
idk it just pisses me off when my games crash >:C

other than that, the update is pretty chill :D

already updated my console couple days ago, and l'm loving it so far

did it keep crashing on you?

I don't care for the new NSO icon, but as others have said, I suppose I'll get used to it. It is a bit of an eyesore, and even when I clicked on it, it seemed like the content was more focused on advertising than on providing easy access to member-specific information. As someone who just stocked up on multiple years of NSO on sale, I'm not going to be making any NSO-related purchasing decisions anytime soon, and I already know where to find info like my account status, NES/SNES games, etc., so I haven't found any of it that helpful.

The photo transfer stuff seems useful. I haven't tested it out yet, but it seems like a nice idea. That said, I just ordered a new microSD card, so I'll have to take out my old card and attach it to my computer anyway in the not-too-distant future to transfer everything over once I test that the new card works.

it kept giving me an error when i tried to update it for a little while. got it updated in the end though.

the nintendo switch online thing is a little jarring. i think it would've been better if they made it like the other little widgets. like the nintendo switch online logo, but make that red and the rest of the circle white. it would match better.

didn't know about the usb port thing, that's cool! and yeah, i wish they made a minimalist design for the NSO switch app;;

Wait, the USB cable usage thing wasn't available since the beginning?

Also the new NSO icon bothers me. It's obnoxious. Why do I need to access my NSO service faster? I use it by playing NH.

The ability to transfer pics and videos throu QR code is really great for me thou. Twitter compresses things, esp when my photo has a filter over it. Also I can't take videos off of Twitter but now I don't need to.

Thanks for this thread. I noticed the Switch Online red circle, but I didn't look into what it added. I assumed, as usual, some "stability" (aka anti-hacking) measures. But to have actual useful features is great!
