Now that they have it updated once again, I’m about to present to you what has changed. Here are some highlights:

- The Nintendo Switch is about to surpass the NES’s lifetime sales. NES has sold 61.91 million units, the Switch sold 61.44 million. When the sales reports updates again, the only console to have sold more than the Switch is the Wii. In addition, this is more than 4 times how much the Wii U sold in 4 years, and about times as many the GameCube sold in six years.
- Once again, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the top selling Switch game, with 26.74 million copies sold. Not only it’s the first game to break the 20 million threshold, but it’s also the only game to have outsold 25 million copies so far.
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons, now takes the cake as being the second highest selling Switch game, selling 22.40 million copies. Yes, ACNH is the second game to have broken the 22 million threshold. Add to that, its sales between March to June have doubled, being the only game on this list to do so.
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate may have been the fastest selling launch game, but sales sure have slowed down. It’s now at 19.99 million copies sold.
- Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is at 4th place, selling 18.60 million copies. This is not only the highest selling Zelda game, but also the first one to have sold over 20 million copies (counting the Wii U’s sales).
- Pokémon Sword and Shield is in 5th place, selling 18.22 million copies. By now, it’s the best selling console Pokémon games, and the best selling Pokémon games since the Gameboy Color Era. With that being said, Pokémon Gold/Silver and Pokémon Red/Blue are still the only Pokémon games to have sold more than Pokémon Sword/Shield.
- Super Mario Odyssey is at 6th place, with 18.06 million copies. For a while, it sold better than Breath of the Wild (it was even the top selling Switch game during all of 2018), but now its behind the launch title.
- Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/Let’s Go Eevee is at 7th place, with 12.20 million copies sold. That is more than all of the third Pokémon games (except for Pokémon Yellow) and more than Fire Red/Leaf Green.
- Super Mario Party has sold 10.94 million copies, putting it at 8th place, being both the first game in the Mario Party series to sell over 10 million copies and to have sold more than all of the N64 Mario Party titles combined.
- Splatoon 2 is in 9th place, with 10.71 units sold. It has finally broken the 10 million threshold after three years on the market.
- New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe has sold 7.44 million copies, being in 10th place. Although this isn’t as high as the rest, it definitely has outsold the Wii U version (a launch title for the Wii U too).

What do you think of these sales reported as of today? In my opinion, I wouldn’t be surprised, considering how successful the Nintendo Switch was, but these are all interesting reports if you compare them to their previous counterparts.

Those are mind-boggling numbers and the world economy is suppose to be on par with the Great Depression? Clearly people have enough savings to be spending on games or just the world population has grown exponentially and people are less financially-restricted as older generations? How are the other competitors like Sony, Activision Blizzard, X-Box, EA, etc. faring? Am I the only one reluctant to spend on getting the Nintendo Switch even though my financial situation is stable

Well gaming climates have changed what can one say

The increase certainly makes sense given more people are spending time indoors and isolated from what used to be normal life.

Nonetheless, I am so happy to see ACNH has been so well received and been such an enormous financial and cultural success.

Here’s the official website with their sales. The second link on the page is where you can compare the sales of their different consoles, and the third link on the page shows individual game sales that you can look at for each console.

Also I don’t mean to take away from the OP but figured I’d at least link the original source as Wikipedia can sometimes twist certain facts. (A student at my high school back in the day made himself the principal on Wikipedia so yeah... >.<)
