No gold tools?

If I get the game I will not be getting the gold tools I don't care if they are the "best" or if they look better I will just be sticking with silver tools.

But

How would you react if there were not any gold tools in the game?

I definitely understand wanting to stick with the silver tools instead, since in my opinion they do look nicer color-wise. Though in New Leaf I've been using silver tools either way.

If the golden ones weren't a thing in the new game, I wouldn't really mind. The other tools probably do their job just fine as well.

Golden tools look cool but also a bit mm special? Like they look intimidating to use idk maybe because i got used to the way the silver tools looked. So uh i guess i would be alright without gold tools in the new game and my reaction would just be "oh ok that's fine"

It really just depends on what the functionality is this time really. The golden axe used to be something to brag about, but they made it too easy to get in New Leaf so I hope they introduce a new tier of tools that's even more difficult to unlock.

The only golden tool I really ever get is the ax because I can do a lot of landscaping without having to worry about my ax breaking, lol. I also don't really worry about the gold watering can because I hate going around and gardening, so I just do the Beautiful Town ordinance. As for the other tools... I really don't see a difference, so I usually just keep them silver. I don't think I'd be upset if they did away with golden tools UNLESS they didn't make the silver ax unbreakable.

Well, the golden rod and net have no real functionality except to show you completed your fish/bug encyclopedia, so i’d Rather stick with my silver variations instead.

The golden Axe is unbreakable and the golden shovel is used to plant money trees (and its a way to get normal saplings after you shake it off....which is interesting)

I mean the golden net is wider and rod has fish tend to stick a tad longer, but other than that

that said, I'd love it if we could have this sort of gold tool functionality with silver tool coloring. tools customization, basically

I found the gold axe, watering can, and shovel the most useful so I guess I'd be kind of disappointed? Especially cause I've been landscaping my town a lot lately so I break axes pretty quick, and getting more flowers watered for breeding takes awhile with the normal and silver tools. Every other tool type tho, I'm content with the silver ones so It's not a big deal there, I don't dislike the gold coloring but the silver is definitely far more pleasing to the eyes.

It would be kind of a pain, but I could deal with it. If they were to get rid of them completely, then I would just expect the normal tools to be buffed. As a personal note however, I have never really liked how the gold tools have looked... I would rather just "upgrade" the tools instead of changing their look. Or, I would prefer the look to just be cosmetic.

Gold tools are great for late-game, because they make everything so much easier. I'd be kinda sad, but it wouldnt be a super big deal to me.

I second this, I understand why axes break over time because it's realistic, but could be annoying when landscaping. When it breaks, you'd have to stop landscaping and wait for it to restock in the store or something.

I don't mind having gold tools, it's nice for there to be goals. Of course, they're not all necessary but something to work towards is the meat of an AC game.

fun fact: the silver can is actually faster for watering flowers, despite covering less ground at once. due to the much longer watering animation that the gold can has. the only use for gold is if you're working to get golden roses

though did the golden shovel serve any purpose in new leaf other than growing this place's namesake? since I've always found silver's chance of spawning ores infinitely more useful myself (with the benefit of looking better as well)

I like the Golden Tools, although I carry around Silver Shovel more because Ore Rock > Money Rock. I like them being their own mini goals in the game. I think it's fun to be rewarded for years of hard work, especially with the encyclopedias. The idea of the tiers of tools and each have they're own advantages and disadvantages appeals to me and I like it a lot. So if they weren't in the game, I'd honestly be kind of disappointed. Also, I always remember getting the golden tool in each game and how excited and accomplished I felt for each Golden tool I gained.

If there were no golden tools I think it would be a shame because even though they are not necessary they do assist a lot. I do a lot of breeding hybrids and because of the excessive amount I have, the golden watering can is just a necessity for this. In addition, the golden net and fishing rod have never been used by me as I think they are useless and a way of showing off XD

I wouldn't mind if the gold tools weren't in the game anymore. Just like everyone else said, I prefer the silver more than the gold due to looks. Plus, the silver tools have always served me just as well as the gold would. Plus, the silver can be obtained pretty early on then the gold.

I don't really like gold things, I've always preferred the silver equipment.

I doubt they'll be removed and I also don't want them to be removed because they are a staple of how far you have came in individual areas of the game.
