No Museum from the start...?

I just thought of something. We know that we will arrive on a deserted island at the beginning of the game. There will be no buildings at first. If you decide to build something, it will most likely not be the museum that is going to be built first. I imagine the first public buildings would be something like town hall, a shop or a boutique - the neccessary stuff. However, that would mean that we had to store all fossis and (at least the rare) fish and bugs we will catch in the first few days/weeks in order to bring them to the museum. That would block a lot of inventory/closet space.

I wonder how this is going to turn out in the game...
 
Unless the plane takes us somewhere that has a musuem.

If we have to build it, I'm not saving them. I'll just check my encloypedia and make a list of what needs to be donated.
 
With the fact that furniture can be placed outside now, I'll probably place them down outside in a corner of my island and then try and get the museum as soon as I can! If it isn't available from the start anyway, we don't really know how things like that will work just yet...

I would imagine it would take a while to totally develop your island how you want, so I won't mind designating 1 unused corner for fossil storage! I'll probably work outwards from my own house and take it slow, instead of try and get all paths placed straight away haha, especially with the fact we can now choose where villagers put their homes down! :D
 
Assuming dressers work the same as they currently do, with about 3x60 spaces, then I probably won't have a problem keeping everything in storage until I unlock the museum, personally. Otherwise, I'll also be displaying everything in some corner of my town. If they won't give me a museum from the start, I'll make my own for the time being, dammit!

But that being said, I imagine unlocking the museum will have to do with collecting lots of items you can donate, anyway.
 
I think it will depend on what options actually are/will be available in terms of upgrades for me.
I know for sure I will be saving one of each in the meantime if I do not go for a museum immediately.
 
I'm just hoping they finally have a system that will tell you which items you donated so you don't have to write it down yourself

Only thing worth saving is coelacanth anyways!

If I somehow get a coelacanth day one, you better believe I am carrying that thing around until I get the museum.
 
i hope it won't cost a ton of bells to build the museum... would be annoying at the start of the game when you already have so many things to spend your bells on. i don't want to have to keep everything in a dresser forever but i also don't want to wait with building my house or something to prioritize a museum
 
Maybe they'll go back to the GC system where we will have to mail Blathers the fossils who now works for "faraway museum" until we build our own. When we build the museum or when we unlock the area that has the museum, the fossils we donated will already be there.
 
although it could be that it just hasn't been implemented yet, i noticed that (maybe someone's mentioned it already but) during treehouse play through, when bugs were caught, neither the size of the bug nor the "i should check my encyclopedia" message pops up, which concerns me of the lack of encyclopedia and possibly a museum. i'm most likely wrong though, and it just hasn't been put in yet. or maybe you have to craft the encyclopedia..?
 
If we have to build our own museum in town, maybe we can build other facilities. I hope this is the case.
 
Seems like we will have to build it, but hopefully it'll be fairly early on since the museum is pretty important. The encyclopedia will most likely become an app, too.
