Am I the only one who is disappointed that New Horizons apparently has no new Animal Villager types?
I was really hoping for something. Anything really. Or at least MORE new characters that are rarer animal types, like the Octopus characters, I think there are only like 4 of those?
I know getting new animal types is rare. As far as I can tell looking online, it's only happened 3 times. monkeys in Wlid World, and Deer and Hamsters in New Leaf. ( new leaf gave a few more Octopus characters too though. prior to NL there was only 1 in the game). But I was still hoping for something new and interesting to move into my town.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree? Are you happy with what we have? Do you hope like me that they introduce more new animal types as part of future updates? Is that even a realistic thing to hope for?
Yea, I was definitely hoping for at least 1 more type of animal. It makes me kinda sad but not too upset, really. I really like the new added characters, and to be fair, they’re already some of the most liked of the game. I can forgive them for this, mostly bc I feel animal interactions and dialogue have improved quite a bit, and are on par with WW/CF, imo.
Nah, you're not the only one, I was hoping for them too since it's been 8 years since the last game in the series, I found it groundbreaking that they added new species AND personality types in New Leaf so I was hoping for either of those in this game too.
This is fair, I'd also appreciate patching up how few Smug/Uchi villagers there are in comparison to the other personalities, just so there's more variety, even if that means most new villagers would be either of those personalities.
I was hoping for more animal types as well as villagers in general.
But all hope is not lost yet - let's not forget the updates they'll be releasing.
I wouldn't be surprised to find more down the line - I would also like to have more breeds of animals if that makes sense. Such as in the case of Isabelle, Digby or Harvey - it would be nice to have fluffy or Persian cats and other breeds of dogs other than just the NPC's.
I have a feeling that Nintendo don't want players to reach "end game" (I have already came across some people using that term in regards to the game) in a matter of weeks, which is why they will keep the updates rolling for years to come.
Yeah! I'll be forever annoyed at them making Chelsea normal as they could've made her a peppy to have a deer from each personality, but of course they'd rather have 2 normal deers and 0 peppies. Why not! And this is the case with many species, don't even get me started on the wolves...
Although I don't mind, it would be nice if we could get new Animal species. I've been dying for them to add fish villagers. Imagine the creativities that can go into fish villagers: Goldfish! Clownfish! Catfish! Heck, maybe do sharks and jellyfish too! That would be awesome!
I wanted new species/villagers, but it wasn't at the forefront of my mind but even with ones you listed it's not like i'd say monkies/hamsters were a failure but the deer seemed to overall be vastly more popular than the two :/ and i think the problem with lesser like species like mice sometimes isnt even really the models... it's just the design for the majority of the ones available are bad so they should try to fix that idk
