With the amount of people trading/selling/buying for this game. Would it be possible to make subsections under nook's cranny for recipes, museum trades (fossils and artwork), clothing, etc?

It sounds like a good idea, but I don’t know if the staff would divide it even further. And even if they do, threads would still be easy to get buried in 10 pages of threads in one hour or shorter.

it would still be better than the current situation though where your thread is pushed to the 2nd page after 15 minutes.

if not that at least reduce the bump time limit, same with new neighbour network tbh
i dont think reducing the bump time limit will do anything to help. Everyone will just be bumping and you'll be right back where you started.

The problem with splitting Nook's Cranny down further is, where is the line? How do we decide what is more or less important, and what can be grouped together? What if someone disagrees? What if there's something in a category that a lot more people than expected have, so now you have 30 threads for 1 thing and 2 shops? Not trying to be super critical, I just think it's worth looking at what YOU find important, versus what others do.

I think if they were to divide it down it would have to be MINIMAL or else it would end up becoming cluttered in its own way (I want collapsable sections so I don't have to see the NL stuff and all, for example, I keep clicking the wrong ****), if they were to do this I think the best way would be:

Shopping District
Abels (You wear it? It goes here, shoes, clothing, bags, and accessories)
Nooks Cranny (Furniture items and peoples personal shops, this include anything to do with greenery)
Musume (Artwork and Fossils, and DIYs as well since I doubt those two categories will stay very active for much longer)

Alternatively, if they can't add subcategories into one forum section I would prefer some type of tags, as just adding more tabs to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons section just seems super cluttery. That way with tags at least you can specifically signal outposts you want like clothing, furniture, and museum-related stuff. Even if your post is at the tippity top of the list no one is going to click it if it isn't something they wanted to peep to begin with after all.

Idk about a whole separate section, but to be able to tag as recipe or whatever would be so useful

This is probably far beyond the scope of this forum, but tagging and being able to show only 1 tag at a time, or sort by tag, would be amazing! I think this is the best idea in the thread, and solves all problems. That way you just filter out the stuff you don't want!

You can already do this! Just click on the thread's prefix ("buying", "selling") etc and it will filter by only that prefix. You were able to do this on TBT 2.0 too.

Yeah!! That’s what I mean for like recipes and clothes n such too!

What we shouldn't be doing is dividing the boards even further.

What we should do is incorporate fields options like there is in town blogs and make those fields somehow searchable...

Also don't some forums allow multiple tags on threads?

I felt like I have seen it before...

The advanced search feature is also extremely helpful when you want to find items on trading boards (or any board for that matter).

For example, let's say you're looking to buy fossils.

1. Select 'Search' on the top right-hand side of the forum and hit 'Advanced Search'
2. Select 'Search Threads'

You can then narrow by all sorts of fields such as keywords, date ranges, prefixes, and which forum you want your results from.

Since I want to find fossils, I'm going to set fossils as my keyword.

The 'Giveaway,' 'Shop,' 'Selling,' and 'Trading' prefixes under AC Trading may all yield results I want so I'd hit control and click on each prefix to select all of them for my search. You could also leave this blank or select 'Selling' for more targeted results.

For my forum, I'd select 'Nook's Cranny.'

I'm then given all the results that include fossils within those prefixes on the Nook's Cranny board.

Try experimenting with it!

Threads get pushed to second or third page quickly. But as someone who already has a lot of permanent threads, I do NOT want to then divide my shop/services thread down even further with it being split up...
Most people who have been on the forums awhile know that most people will find ways to "justify" why it needs on this board and not that board or won't pay attention and just put it in the main board instead of the subcategory. It would still be a mess with the addition of staff being overloaded with reports for threads to be moved.

I have but what if I wish to search DIYs? I feel like the limit of characters should be at least 2

You can search for a specific DIY by name. Usually those are longer characters and work out ok. A lot of people do word them as "recipe" so another way to search, too.

I mean hypothetically speaking, I'd rather not have everyone including myself have to juggle between 3+ different different threads, just because each section has its own dedicated wares

I'm not asking for too many sub sections. The main Nook's cranny can still be used for people that are selling multiple things and shops but from what I see, there's MANY threads which are just DIY recipes that flood the whole section.
